Chaotic Rapier vs. Chaotic Longsword vs. Chaotic Maul

Not it doesn't. TBH, it only rips people in rune, other than that, it's not that great.

 

Just got a rapier last night on my Barrows pure I have one on my other account but its not nearly as exciting lol. I think I am going to get maul next for sure.

 

I'm no rs wiz, but isn't the maul highest dps? (damage per second) besides the arma battlestaff+spell of course.

 

My first chaotic was rapier as soon as i hit 85 dungeoneering, would anyone recommend continuing to get better equipment, and if so what should I buy next?

You should probably get the C maul if your a fan of the rapier. That's a nice balance of power and speed, for different situations you would get to. If you have a rapier, its rlly not worth it to get cls as your second chaotic.

 

Chaotic Maul is beast for tds/Bandos Rapier is good for slaying/minions/staking

Cls is good for all other bosses as well its matter of opinion and trial and error tbh.

 

rapier has proved to be far more superior than the other chaotics overall so far. on slayer tasks i can dish out rapid 400s+

 

Rapier has proved to be fucking awesome for Revs & Slayer tasks so far. Really looking forward to getting a maul though, just for that amazing power and those HUGE hits.

Rapier all the way. I've got all chaotics and the rapier has helped me out most. It owns for slayer.

I had a lot of theses questions when I was working toward my first chaotic. Thanks for making a sticky.

This is the order that I bought them in:
rapier
maul
cls
next I will be buying:
ccb
staff
stream/vigour/scrolls etc

Now that I have had my chaotics this is the order I should have done:
Rapier
Maul
CCB
CLS
Staff
Other stuff

 

Rapier is definitely the best choice for a first chaotic, I love mine and I'm glad I got it first.

The maul however, is just PURE fun. I absolutely love using mine and have been getting tons of use out of it for both Revenants & Waterfiends

 

Maul is not good at td's, thats a lie. While DPS purely maul beats rapier, your kills are like 10 seconds faster when you use a rap+ddef, instead of a maul.

 

I bought rapier first and that's one excellent decision I've made. It's so much help everywhere, especially slaying. After rapier I bought maul and then cls. I haven't really used cls anywhere else but jad tasks. Maul is lovely if one would like to get some crimson charms at chaos tunnel waterfiends. Turmoil + titan + ovl/extremes + maul is incredible combination there. Topping that up with weekly familiarisation run equals lovely 400 crimson charms in 40 minutes.

 

Nice this has given me more of an insight into which chaotic I will want to pick next, I currently have the rapier which I use generally for slaying and PvM grinding and it's great.

My next chaotic is going to be CCB and then I plan to get EEK and Rigour so I can do some hardcore bossing although I will also now think about going for CLS for bandos and other bosses as it seems pretty resonable.

I think nothing beats rapier for slayer, its amazing.

 

rapier. faster than cls and you dont hit that much lower. but the speed makes up for the lower hits.
