Kim Jong Il dead; what's next for North Korea?

I don't really think North Korea is going to change; that is, its continuation of seclusion to the rest of the world. Kim Jong-Il's son, Kim Jong-Un is his successor, and who knows what he's going to do? What are your thoughts/predictions concerning North Korea with the rest of the world?

 

In a regime where children are brainwashed, where people go hungry and those who think anything other than the regime, end up in concentration camps. There, the supreme leader is hailed by all, all the time, and where power is passed down from father to son, as in a monarchy.

It is strange that this regime has survived so long. But as so often, it's about politics. Neighbouring China is not pleased about the North Korean regime. But the Chinese leaders do not want to have a Western-oriented aggregate Korea at its border.

Therefore, China lives with North Korea. It is not a confident and good relationship, it is solely based on the Chinese leaders believe the current regime, after all, is better than the alternative. North Korea receives deliveries from China, but can not control from Beijing. After that North Korea had nuclear weapons, it has been even more difficult for the outside world to take action to change conditions in the closed country.

It is almost impossible to affect a regime to such a degree that are not concerned about their own population. Slave Work is widespread. The few who escaped alive out of the camps, telling about the inhuman conditions. These are not prisons, there are concentration camps, with all the means of humiliation, hunger, violence and death.

It is too early to say whether Kim Jong-un is good or bad news for North Korea. But based on experience with this regime, there is little to suggest that there will be something better.

 

I think now that he is dead we are screwed

his kid is nuts, they sent a missle launch (test) as they claim the just before word came out that he was dead

 

What now? His Son takes over (Who is quite mentally crazy)
And China loses all hope.

In my opinion, I believe Un will try to evade South Korea eventually, pushing the United States into war against North Korea. NK will then launch nuclear weapons and it will not be pretty.

 

Maybe the son will take over and go crazy and declare war on major countries and world war 3 will take place and in turn lead to the destruction of the world proving the Mayans right. or nothing new will happen

 

What would the UN accomplish by doing so?

 

I personally think it's a good idea to evade south korea, they're not doing much

 

Do you mean invade? South Korea is in a far better state than North Korea. Giving North Korea the South peninsula would make fighting in the Korean War useless.

 

Why in the world would we want to invade South Korea? (Speaking from U.S. point) Please give more reason, other than "its a good idea".

 

In my opinion, Kim Jong-Un doesn't seem as radical as Kim Jong-Il was, and it is reported that he really likes western culture, so perhaps North Korea may slowly open up?

I don't think it could get that much worse anyway (using logical scenarios).

Pretty sure he was talking from a North Korean stand-point, which still doesn't make it logical. In fact, that would be a terrible idea.

 

They will one day dominate the world ^_^

 

I think Kim Jong Un won't have full control over Nk for a while, the military and the high officials will probably run the place for a few years. So that might mean more war and conflict with south Korea.

I think China are wary of what north Korea are doing, since they are right on their border. So it's likely they will be unhappy at any kind of major conflict between north and south Korea, so they might not help them out this time.

 

Its good that he is dead. North-Korea have been suffering to long. His son won't be any better tough. I feel kinda sad when i see them on tv. The government set up a national time e.g 12:00 everyone must be crying because of Il's death. Thats just awful you see many people fake-crying just because a terrible leader died? I wish the best for the North-Korea folk and i hope they will get their freedom asap.

 

I do agree that NK should not be as tight of a government as they are now, but I have to disagree with the "fake crying". I've seen documentaries on North Korea, and it seems they are truly bawling whenever they do cry. The citizens have been taught to dislike Americans and that any positivity, such as doctors help curing a sickness, should be credited to Kim Jong-il because he "provided" the doctors/persons or whatever the situation is.

 

These people aren't fake crying they are actually mourning their leader they revered as a god. People don't understand that these children from birth are taught that Kim Jong-Il is a god. Same thing happened when his father died, Kim Sung-Il. This family will have a stranglehold on North Korea till an outer party intervenes.

 

The most are in fact fake crying. They must mourn for their dead leader , otherwise you will get a bullet trough you're head.

 

North Korea is the most isolated country on Earth these people aren't fake crying they actually think their leader is divine and thus are crying. These people don't have access to the outside and Kim Jong-Il's teachings are the only thing they have. Believe w/e you want you're not making a good argument lol.

 

What now? Kim Jong Un may or may not take his place in dictatorship. Which means maybe there will be a military leader dying to start a war with south korea.

 

Doesn't really matter North Korea is an helpless economically. They don't have the money or resources for war. True they have nuclear weapons, but if they use them they have to be retarded. Beijing w/ decide the future of North Korea, and China may adopt it as a province. I don't think any major changes will even occur right away.
