    ITunes Vs Youtube

Why do people honestly buy from ITunes when they can just watch it on youtube free? They can add it to there favorites and make it like a library?

Thoughts? Because I see no point.

You can't put music from youtube onto your ipod. Well you can, but its illegal. Also, you can get books, movies, and apps from itunes, but you can't get any of that from youtube. Although it can be easier to listen to music on youtube (if you want to take the time to add all of your songs to a youtube playlist thing) there are a lot of things itunes can do that youtube can't.

Well again, free mp3s are illegal, and you still can't get the movies, apps, or books like I talked about before.

Still Illegal. However, Quaked does have a point. Why should you bother to download the song at all?
Just about everywhere has WiFi, and you can just watch it free on youtube and never get it on your iPod. As for apps, movies, and books, you will have to use iTunes, but I personally categorize that differently...

It's a pain in the ass to rely on YouTube to listen to music on an iPod / smart phone. I agree with the "why do people use iTunes" part though. Applications like spotify are by far more logical.

    Itunes
Completely different UI/UX (fast to navigate)
Purely audio (when we're talking music)
    High quality audio

    Youtube
Not ideal UI/UX for listening to music (slow navigation process)
Must buffer a video (every time for a song as opposed to storing it locally)
    can be lower quality

    You get the idea....

    iTunes:
Can put songs on to your music playing device
    Songs are kept permanently
Download the song once that's all the bandwidth used
    Much more organized in library
    Who actually pays for songs?

    not sure if srs

Yes, but why pay for music? When you can just download it to your computer hard drive?

There are sites that convert a youtube video from the url to an mp3 and you download it. So it's comparing free music to paying for music... which would you choose?

I'll buy my favorite artists albums to support them though.

I'm pretty sure that converting is legal, isn't it?
    It's just slightly more effort.

Thing is, you can make a playlist on YouTube and listen on your ipod touch which means free music. Same as itunes but free..

If it's copyrighted maybe. Else you're just downloading audio from a public video, that is free to watch and listen to, which shouldn't be a problem. But just guessing. ;)

You can't listen to youtube everywhere you go. Not everywhere has wi-fi so listening to it everywhere isn't possible. Also listening to music directly off your ipod (or itunes) is quicker than youtube because it takes a lot less time to look up the song, and to play it (due to no buffering).

    iTunes for all but music.

Its simpler for alot of people that just dont have the knowledge or prefer to legally acquire there songs, videos, ect.. Also you cant really bring youtube with you if you dont have 3-4 gb or wifi.
