    Best jobs for students?

Im currently in grade 12 and do not work during the school year as it can get quite busy. Was talking to my friend who makes 25-40 dollars per game reffing soccer. So if he referees a men's league game he makes 40 dollars in an hour, gets paid cash and it doesn't take up alot of his time. Can anyone think of a better job? Only thing that comes to mind would be a local gamestop and even then it's minimum wage and longer hours.

Best bet is to start out working at a restaurant. It's one of the easiest jobs to get. In the meantime of working at one, you can look for another job (assuming you're 18) that is better.

Ya, I think I might enjoy that, I live near a 7 11 but I'd hate always smelling like chicken.

You could always merchant online, by buying stuff and then reselling at a higher price on websites like ebay.

Working in a restaurant is great because you get your wages and you get great tips. I did a work experience and they gave me wages and i got to keep all the tips, people left £3+ each time.

I'd definitely work in a restaurant if I was a girl, my sister can make 100-200 $ a night in tips working at a bar and grill.

Reffing soccer SUCKS. Shoot for a restaurant. Also: Look for a baseball stadium near your house.

I worked at Pizza Hut when I was in school, as a delivery driver. You get about the same amount as a waiter in tips, except you get paid more per hour as a delivery driver.

Think I might of had a good idea, deliver medicine. You would get to drive around, listen to music, relax and just drop off medicine at peoples houses.

Simple, relaxing , 1-2 hours after school, possibility to bring a friend?, minimum wage :S

Something that has flexible hours and that you can get more hours during the summer is the #1 thing to look for. I love my job just because I set my own hours / days / how much I work pretty much. It makes everything so much easier.

SuF makes a good point, flexibility is key.

Also, tips that restaurants bring in are nice as well as a labor job like stocking or yard work can be somewhat enjoyable as you arent stationary for 2497239 hours.

If you work at a restaurant make sure you never work as a kitchen hand or in the kitchen cause they will treat you like shit.

You can always try retail if you can as that is better than working in the hospitality industry.

What do you average a night? And I guess it depends on which sort of restaurant it is.

I have a guide in my sig of how I made a modest sum whilst in school; it's go at your own pace and a very rewarding activity.

But the best way to make money is scholarships. If you can muster the tolerance (I know the feelings of aversion that come up when you have to write essays/fill out forms etc.). You should try to set yourself up for free college, and perhaps more (the university I attend cuts the student a check for the amount of excess scholarships I have, made 16k this year off that). Look for local places like credit unions, they often have 1k scholarships that FEW people enter; also all the service clubs and military groups give out stuff. Go local though, so many tards go for national scholarships and there is quite simply no hope if you're a lazy person like me lawl.
