Hide the Report a Spammer Archive section from public viewing

Suggestion is basically in the title.

It spams the New Posts page and limits the amount of threads you're able to see on the New Posts page. I already know that the Report a Spammer (non-archive) is hidden to normal members.

 

Then how will people know their reports were dealt with

 

They'll see that the post they reported was deleted, the thread title that they want changed is changed, etc.

 

That's just alot more complicated and will give rise too more people asking pointless questions on Livechat about already answered reports

 

If you want to see your report (if it's been dealt with) then you can just search your user-name, it shows all your reports there. However I don't use the 'new posts' function.

 

How do you know the amount of questions asked on Live Chat?

 

All I know is that there would be more newer members asking where their threads went thus giving more unnecessary work to the Moderators of this Forum

 

If normal users do not see the Report a Spammer Archive on the www.sythe.org index page, why are they able to see it if they go to the forumdisplay page in the first place?

 

It's hidden in the Report a Spammer section, which is viewable by staff only. So normal users can't see the section on the index page, but they can on the new posts page.

I think it should be hidden from normal users altogether.

No support, I think the system is fine the way it is, and if it becomes hidden it will lead to people asking questions like "Did you see my report yet?", "Did my report get ignored", "Did it get deleted", and other equally annoying questions.

when iv reported posts I'd prefer to not even see it in the threads iv made its just annoying I know the staff will of done their jobs.

 

That's an assumption though. You never know what will happen. If it doesn't work, you can always put it the way it was.

 

I don't agree. Sometimes I report some rather complicated posts and it's not always the moderator agrees with me; therefore this moderator posts his view on the case as a reply and closes the report. Afterwards you can always take action by PM'ing this mod, but it's not always necessary, as you've gotten this reply, which is why I would like it to remain viewable.

 

A good thing about not allowing normal members to see the archive is if they had posts get reported, and say they got infracted because of it, they will know which member reported them and possibly be mad at the reporter.

As is now, it is not a very anonymous system which I feel it should be.

 

True, but why fix whats not broken.

 

I posted this in the Suggestions section so the section obviously has some sort of flaw with it, in my opinion.

 

There is several people who like to know how their reports got handled, and who by, which is where most of the staff feedback comes from.

Personally, if i had reported someone on my thread and it wasnt resolved, I'd like to know what the result was on the spam report that had been archived.


However; if theres enough Support, I dont see why this couldnt be done, until then though, I doubt this will be changed because of one person who is annoyed by it

 

Is there anyway where you guys can put the finished reports in a different private subsection, but then after a couple hours, make them public by moving them to the RaSp Archives? The only problem I have with them is spamming the new posts page.
