Have you ever gotten banned for buying gold?

I was thinking of purchasing some since and since I've never done it before, what are the chances of getting banned because of it? I can understand if you're advertising around "wooohooo I just bought a million gold"... but if you're subtle about it, would it be a-okay?

 

I've never seen anyone be banned for buying gold. It depends how much, if your talking billions then you may want to use a bit of caution. However mills are usually no problem at all. It's obviously not a good idea to go around saying you've bought gold.

 

dont go around saying it i think jagex have like catchers to get some things

You won't get banned if you buy gold unless you do it explicitly in large amounts, consistently.

 

You will not get banned buying gold unless you are very, very stupid.

When I buy gold I always have a background story which I act out over PM. E.g. a friend giving me his santa. Or a final, quitting stake in which the buyer 'cheats' and brings food. Don't ever mention it ingame, and if asked how you made your money, say merchanting. Also don't buy in very large amounts over a short period of time.

I have never received a ban for buying or selling gold.

You're 99.99% safe to do it if you don't talk about it In-Game

 

Use drop trade in increments for example, 10 bil do in increments of 1 bil or 500mil, just incase your connection gets lost etc you wouldnt want to lose anything during a drop trade. Always have a fast computer, or two computers side by side when doing this.

Jagex cannot track this method.


Also be sure to drop trade in low population worlds where no one is, this would mean trips to the bank by the player with the money

 

Just have a background story and have a talk with the buyer/seller in RS.

Got banned on a pure after transferring three party hats which I bought on a mule account and someone reported me(someone who knew what I was doing)

 

I'VE bought plenty of gold no bans or mutes

 

I've only purchased gold once and no, i didn't get banned.

 

I've bought billions and billions of GP and have never got banned. Bigger buyers than myself have got their accounts banned though.
