Porn, Rape and Christian Ethics

Ive attended a catholic school all of my life and ever since grade six or seven we've been visited by a women who would give us a presentation attaining to relevant issues, ie sex and relationships. This presentation is called date smart and there generally not to bad and a great way to spend a day or two of religion classes goofing off rather than learning about the history of the church.

This year the presentation that was given to us was porn. Even for a grade 12 student I felt the presentation was a little much and did not like talking about the topics given. Its not that I am completely uncomfortable talking about this but alot of the things that the presentation lead to either disgusted me or made me very uncomfortable and felt them unnessary in the presentation.

- She talked about snuff, not initially what bothered me but more so some of the stories she told us and a video we had to watch.

- A story about if I remember correctly two 10 year old british boys that tortured and raped a young toddler.

- An old african myth was that to cure aids you had to have sex with a virgin. Many men were being arrested for raping young women, so what many men afflicted with aids began doing was raping babies.

Highlight of the whole entire presentation was when we we're discussing whether or not certain things can be classified as porn (cd covers, lyrics, videos, ect..) Eventually we came upon a picture painted in the renaissance of a women lying in the nude on a bed with a cat at the end of the bed. The women giving the presentation asked what the cat symbolized and this absolute legend (aka dumbass) shot up his hand and said "kitty porn"... Everyone bursted out laughing, myself included. ^_^

All in all I did not enjoy this presentation, forgot to mention some other key points like how she talked about how serial rapists like Ted Bundy could of had a normal life if it were not for pornagraphy which lead him to rape and kill several women. < Bullshit. That is all.

I thinked I covered all the bases, over the top, disturbing, sucked ass, tried to scare me off from pornhub, phmmf.

Any thoughts would be appreciated and Im sorry if I grossed anyone out, I can assure you I kept details to a minimum.

Its fun to call these people out in the middle of a presentation and then they don't know how to respond. Porn is great. Thats all i can say.

These christian radical types really do scare me. There was one dude, i forget his name but he was preaching about Homosexuals blah blah blah. They ended up finding out that he was smoking crystal meth and paying male prostitutes to have sex with him.
They desided to clense the gay out of him by putting him in a cabin for like a week with 3 other priests. I have an idea of how they got the gay away. Kinda like when your parents catch you smoking and want you to quit.

HE SMOKED THE HOLE DAMN PACK.

Point is these radical types are fucked, and porn is healthy normal thing i enjoy maybe 2 times a week.

 

Nothing is "healthy" about porn. It leads to addictions that negatively affect countless relationships. It distorts sex, and it leads teenagers to have unrealistic expectations of what their spouse may be willing to do.

Porn =/= healthy.

 

To bring this further: porn may serve as a dopamine agonist. Dopamine regulates the levels of prolactin in your brain. This happening too often will cause you to fall short in bed with your partner (i.e. make you premature) due to the effects of excess dopamine, among other issues. It literally has a physical and mental effect on you, and I agree is not healthy in the slightest.

 

You can't blame rape, murder, and other atrocities on anything other than drugs (maybe) and mental health problems. No mentally stable person watches a porno and decides, "hmm now lets go rape and murder several people".

 

Regardless, the real question is whether or not it is moral as people love doing things that are bad for them.
