Tall girls dating short guys.....WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

I'm not a very tall guy. Maybe 5'7? I don't see how people get up in arms if a guy isn't taller than the girl. :Oh no, I can't wear high heels around him and it'll be awkward to slow dance!" Do women really concern themselves with this foolish mindset to totally blow off guys no matter how much they're into them? I actually had an awesome girl, who was my height, totally turn me down because of that exactly. Thought I was hot and had an awesome personality but didn't like my height. IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN HELP IT =( Anyway, what do your guys take on this situation?

 

It's the only reason why I'm not taking up weightlifting until I reach my full height (at around age 16).

I'd assume it's an age-old genetic thing. Height and stockiness in a man meant that he was a good hunter, and so desirable to have children with.

 

well i dont get too worried about it, because its just what other people think that makes you feel insecure. I dated a girl who was slightly taller then me but no one mentioned anything about that, and it didnt come inbetween us..i was like 13 anyways meant nothing. I also went to my formal with a girl a lot taller then me but again no one mentioned anything about it. Just dont let what others say affect you. Plenty of beautiful women out there as they say..

 

Hard to understand a females logic... but it would be kind of awkward in this position. I myself have really dated girls a LOT shorter than me, because I can't imagine the thought of dating a girl taller than me.

Nothing wrong with it, just kind of awkward. But if you have feelings for the person, and they for you, it shouldn't matter.

I personally like tall girls, but im tall myself. i like tall girls that are shorter than me . i dont think many people can deal with having a tall girlfriend because men are usually dominant in relationships as well in life. A lot of women want to feel secure and in the arms of someone that can protect her. Its kind of awkward when the woman is taller than the man in the relationship. it makes everything kind of off balance. but in the end its all about love.

This could make a good discussion though. I've always just thought it was so awkward when girls were taller than me. I remember being like 12 and 13 years old and most of the girls my age had hit puberty years before and were pretty tall, whereas me and all the rest of the guys were quite short compared to most girls :laugh:

Short girls are the bomb. I'm 6 ft and so I don't really have an issue with girls being taller than myself, but I don't see an issue with it if you guys really like each other.

Weightlifting doesn't stunt your growth. Also, you don't reach your full height at 16, it could be much later. My cousin's 19 right now, and he went from 6'2 to 6'4 in the last year. All of my uncles were the same, they ended up growing 3-5 inches a year or two after high school (18). Dennis Rodman, as well as many other NBA players, got most of his height after high school; he grew 11 inches at age 19.

Don't worry so much about your height, odds are you'll get most of your height after you turn 18.
