I am outraged.

Hi guys, these are my first few days using sythe, and I came here to purchase a santa hat. I had almost been scammed on my first trade! Then somebody tried to scam me again! This is ridiculous! Who actually wants to sell me a santa legit? Honestly.... The first person I almost got scammed by had a RS name of '_Q_L_D_2_PK', and 'HAHANERDOMM' which was an impersonation of an official mm. This person pretended to be selling the santa and impersonated and omm. The next person which happened just now, was impersonating a highly-trusted user on sythe. The person was impersonating Busta305, and tried to make me believe that he was at work so he couldn't send me a PM on the forums. He said that his sythe profile had his skype linked, which was true but I viewed his profile on skype and his name was Busta305, but his skype name was busta305sythe, which is not the linked skype account. I cannot believe my first 2 tries to buy a santa have both been scams. Currently, I am trying with King Tijn to buy a santa hat and I will see how that goes. If anybody else would like to help me, I am very interested in buying a santa hat and my price is $75 USD. As this is my first time I would like to you an MM and I will happily pay for one, also if I am trading with you please do not mind be being slow as I am just checking if you are an impersonator.

It happens bud.. just make sure you're trading someone that can be trusted. As long as you trade safe, youll be fine.

Just be smart enough not to get scammed. I learned this the hard way on my 2nd trade.

 

Like I said before, ALWAYS request a PM asking the person you're trading with to include their MSN, your MSN, the trade amount, and a copy paste of your conversation.

Remove your contact details from your sig and profile if you don't want impostors to add you. You can add members yourself or pm the person you trading with your contact details so only they see it.

 

People are taking advantage of you because you are new.

It really sucks. I think my second trade the guy scammed me for a measly 12 dollars. :/ Thank god for screenies. They are actually your best friend.

I don't understand why people tend to blame sythe for scammers. We don't choose who you trade with.

However, it's good that you didn't fall for it.

be happy you didn't get scammed. Most people would have, if it was their first trade on sythe.

 

There is a guide in my signature I suggest you look at, at has a few hints and tips you'll find useful.

 

Just make sure they have alot of vouches, and try and communicate through sythe.

 

Ive had a person chargeback $2 trust me it happens to the best of us no matter how small the amount

- Always use Official Middle Man, for huge trades.
- Always compare users sythe account MSN to his e-mail address on MSN ( Sometimes people make e-mails similar to gold sellers that are highly trusted and con you into just " trusting " them, then they log and you believe you got scammed by a highly respected member on sythe, when really a dirt bag just impersonated a highly respected member and scammed you. )

- Ask for a PM directly on sythe to your account, so you can verify if their real or NOT.

There are many ways to avoid a scam, you just have to use a little bit of common sense...
