PayPal verification

I've been earning some cash here and there, and I have about $200 in my PayPal, which is at the moment, unverified. So far I have no problems purchasing stuff, but when it comes to certains things like RuneScape subscription, they say I need a verified PayPal account to continue with the payment.

I'm just curious why do they need a verified PayPal account? And how can I verify it without a bank account/credit card?

 

I think a better question would be, why do you have a paypal account if you don't have a bank account or credit card?

You need one of those to verify it, you can verify your adress but I don't think that gives you verified paypal status.

 

In the UK you need to add your bank account to verify. I think it's credit card everywhere else.

Also, you can buy membership use a unverified PP account, you just can't have recurring payments, just standard one month.

 

Why won't I? I'm only 16 and at my age, I'm not eligible for a personal bank account yet, aswell as PP is a commonly used method to pay for goods, whether virtual or not.

 

Weird, I've had a personal bank account since I was 12 (and yes, on my own name). Pretty sure you should be able to get one with 16 years old.

 

I've tried signing up. They won't let me. Anyways, the main point is, are there any methods I can use legally to verify my PayPal account?

Just Un Dude is right, you can use a VBA to verify your account but note that you can't request to purchase one on Sythe.

You can go with your parents to a bank and i'm 100% sure they'll let you open one.

 

Yes I know that. Are there any well-known VBA's I can use? Any recommended?
