Man leaves $1.28 million dollars at Sydney restaurant

Is it illegal to own $1.28 million? Don't seem to have a case here, just a suspicious occurrence. I would take 25 grand and leave. It wouldn't show up on the 1.28 million and I would get myself a beast new comp + a slightly less beast laptop

 

I'd take it I mean I could use it for good things like college maybe he left the money for Illegal reasons.

 

Sounds like he had some kind of problem, kidnapping seems likely. Nobody could just leave that there without a reason. And if he did look spooked, a kidnapping would explain that.

It isn't illegal , but someone like the IRS ( don't know if this applies in Australia ) will become suspicious of where it all came from . They'll probably keep a log on you , possibly revoking the money until further notice .

I'd leave it the fuck alone. You'd get killed by whoevers money that was, and I'm willing to bet it definitely had something to do with illegal shit. It's probably some drug cartel/mob bosses cash or some shit, and they'd fuck your shit badly if they found out you took it.

I'm not exactly sure what i'd do but if you kept it you would definately point a target on your head so you'd need to purchase an arsenal of guns and hire some body guards lmao.

If its sitting there in a dufflebag 10 to 1 it's illegally obtained, i'd go for it.
If it looks like its a keepsake type of box it may be some poor guys life savings, i'd hand it in

i would spread 1.28Million out giving myself about 70k per year for a good 20 years of my life and let it build interest while in the bank, at that time i can give back by donating to charities that don't take 90% of the contribution and put it in ceo's pocket.

 

I would turn it in and hope that the person would be nice enough to give me some.
