    The Clash

I'm curious is anyone else on Sythe (besides Clashfan) is into The Clash as much as I am. I feel like they were probably one of the most significant bands of the late 70's - early 80's. They were one of the few bands to fluidly break genre barriers. There wasn't many punk bands back then who could infuse funk, ska, dub, reggae, hip hop, rockabilly, classic rock, and more into their music seamlessly. I think they were a cornerstone of the ska punk that's now been popular since the 80's.

I think it's crazy that some of them barely knew how to play their instruments when the band had started and yet even on their first album their song writing talent and the work they put into it was really relevant. I'm 19 but I rarely meet anyone around my age who loves them as much as I do, so if you're into them post a couple songs you like

it was hard for me to post just a few :p

I bought it second hand, you should check ebay.

    (That's two right there)

It's a great guitar but I wouldn't recommend any Fender over a Gibson Les Paul (personal opinion)

OT: The Clash has influenced me greatly and I love their early work. London Calling, as over marketed it may be, had quite an impact as to how I listen to music. It's taught me how to listen and enjoy multiple instruments at once, this was mainly caused by the heavy bass. It has also taught me to listen to and enjoy good lyrics. Before I would listen to the heavy-heavy bands that was mostly unnecessary screaming and playing loud, this ended up becoming a 'blur'. The Clash is very clear and all of its instruments are clear and loud.

For the past seven months I've been dating a girl who originates from the UK (We live 5 minutes from each other in the Netherlands) she's been brought up by her parents whom have been feeding her (early) UK punk from 'their time'.
Every now and then I learn a bit from them, and when I don't I 'teach' them to broaden their view on music. They love punk but never really listened to anything else and have missed a lot of good music because of this.

Quite recently I have found out about "The Jam" which I love as well.

I know/like a few songs, but I'm clearly not into them as much as you.
    BTW that's a nice guitar.
