I’m 20 years old rn and I’m living in the uk. I’m not in university or any education. Ain’t really got much for qualifications

I’m working a minimum wage job atm but I want more out of life and more money to afford my own house (still living with my parents)

but idk what I want to do with myself. I have a few options, I wouldn’t mind being a fireman, lorry driver or joining the navy. My partner is an EU citizen so I do have the opportunity to work abroad. I chose these options cus I have a high degree of mechanical inclination and it’s always been my dream to be an operator for any heavy machinery.

I want to move countries as well, specifically to either the Netherlands, Canada or Australia but that’ll matter more after I’ve actually got my life in order. Anyone able to give me any advice? I don’t mind some brutal honesty but I would appreciate a decent outline for what exactly I need to do.

Look into skilled trades. Electrician/Plumber. Get the necessary certification for an apprenticeship role and work your way up. If you plan on staying in the UK, look into possibly becoming a Train/Tram driver. Both routes will allow you to comfortably live on your own. You are young and everything is a process. Take it one day at a time and you will get there.

It’s a good idea for it but unfortunately I’m a bit old for the average apprenticeship as you normally have to start them when you’re 16
