Apparently my parents wont let me take any protein supplements while working out.

Apparently they say there's chemicals in them that harm your body, I told them they don't know shit.

Anyway I can prove to them that they are safe?

Lol heres what you do. Most parents are obsessed with the doctor Oz show. Find the episode where they talk about protein shakes and how they are good for you. Parents live by the doctor Oz show.

It takes some fake ass doctor to get them to realize it, before they will believe their own son.

I've taken down countless tubs of protein powder, and take it from me, ( 17 years old atm), protein powder is a supplement ( alongside with creatine) which you can take ALL YEAR ROUND.

I highly recommend, with some broscience right here, that you buy "Whey Isolate" protein powder. It's the best source of protein as its something like 94% protein per gram, a good scoop is 24g of fast digesting protein.

Remember, in the end it's just protein, that's what they need to know, my recommended brand is Optimum Nutrition, on eBay, about 2-3kg for $80, will serve you for a fair while.

My mom didn't really want me taking the protein powder but then I showed her the Dr.Oz thing as you said. She approved so thanks! Been lifting for about a year now and taking Why Protein which helps a lot!

Protein shakes and a HIGH protein diet will do the trick if you lift right.

My cousin has protein shakes because he goes to the gym alot. I think aslong as you have them AND a healthy diet, you will probably be ok. Your burning it off anyway I suppose.

If its not known don't buy it or use it because only use the ones that people use and its known from people and its safe because on T.V some pricks put poison in the protein sht and get you fucked up so you have to be careful I didn't mean to get you scared :)

The doctor oz show is beast, I watch it every time I go to the gym :D He isn't a fake doctor either, he gives the viewer some very good tips to stay healthy and fit.

Like Hexium said, it isn't a meal replacement, but it should be incorporated with a meal. I personally take it with 3 different meals per day.

Protein shakes shouldn't be drunk more than once a day, and it has to be after you workout. If you drink more it doesn't mean you will get bigger muscles, it's just a waste of money because the body has already the right amount of proteins to recover the muscles, the rest goes through the urine.

Eggs, tuna, chicken, fish, etc. Just get your protein from there instead. I know drinking a shake is a much easier method of downing 30g of protein, but if your parents are adamant about it then just get your protein from food instead.
