Are Humans Naturally Evil?

If there was no such thing as "money" would you still consider the human race "evil"? all the other ones not related to money are necessary for the human race to strive. You keep forgetting that we are in fact animals and we will do what it takes to survive. Don't take this the wrong way, I don't think that destroying our environment is the right thing to do but other than that everything else is human nature. We can co-exist with other animals and yes we do cause some to become extinct, which I do not agree with but as a whole we're doing just fine as the dominant species.
Nine times out of ten, a polar bear or a wild lion would maul you to death if a close encounter was to unfold.

 

If humans are naturally Evil, then what are animals like? Sadistic and Cenial? Is my dog a murderer as well? :O

 

Evil only relates to a individuals beliefs and morals, to me nothing is evil.

 

Here's a cute example for you:

There's a 18 year old virgin who's the best guy ever. He's looking for a girl to marry and to lose his virginity to. A girl comes into his life, he fucks her hoping it'd be a permanent relationship. After a fight or 2, the girl just drops him. Guy gets confuzzled, starts fucking other chicks & dropping them.

My point is: We are not born with this "characteristic", you develop it during your whole lifetime. Even if you're born with an evil characteristic, if you meet nice people who care for you, you might develop a whole other characteristic. It's all about your experiences in life.

 

Man is the worst race known to man...? And the only way WE (man) can achieve peace is by killing ourselves, so there'd be nobody to enjoy the alleged peace? The hell is wrong with you?

Most of your arguments for human evil are us killing animals or the environment, which, as someone argued previously, is perfectly natural. We have to LIVE somehow don't we?

And I assume you sympathize with the Occupy cause? Ridiculous. What do you expect the rich 1% to do? Give away money to people that aren't as innovative, hard-working, or intelligent as they are? There are people who get money unfairly or through hardly any work, but that's not the rule, it's the exception.

*Animals don't have the intelligence we do. We, humans, are the superior race on this planet, like it or not. Animals do not know any better, whether evil or good.

I honestly believe all humans are born evil. The upbringing teaches them the paths of good. If people that were born without guidance, yes, they would thrive in society, but not learn the principles taught by their elders. The fact is, people are not born evil, but born without a sense of guidance.

this, instinctivly we are evil by your definition or by "society's" defeinition of evil. if greed is considered evil. 99% of the human kind is evil even with a good upbringing.
country's fight for oil/whatever they can gain something from.

 

Define evil.

If 'evil' means something among the lines of stealing $1,000,000 just to get a nice house, then yes.

If 'evil' means seeing a handicapped person on the road, and kicking him just for fun, then no.

Intelligence can be used for both good and evil. Without guidance, humans would use it for evil from the start.

 

I don't think anyone is born naturally evil. I believe every persons character is nurtured through their enviroment and life experiences.

 

I was going to say, you just contradicted yourself, but if you're drunk I guess it's understandable.

 

As animals, it's an "everyone for themselves" world - why try to get around this by establishing a government, but naturally, there is chaos.

There are exceptions, but many, if not all, are selfish.

Survival is not evil, in my opinion. Good and evil are controversial words, as their meanings are subjective. As human beings, we are a "product of our environment". As we grow older, we create our own morals, which are also subjective.

 

Evil can be anything to what you perceive it as. But someone already stated already that your experiences defines you.

The next time someone in the SFA forum tries to argue that anarchy is the way to go, I'm showing them this thread.

I think anarchy's dumb as hell, but I think humans are naturally born good; I'm simply a Romantic, I suppose.
