able to lock your own threads

I always see people editing thier threads and saying something like "Nvm" or "closed" yet people continue to post on the thread... I think that you should be able to lock your own thread if you dont want it anymore. This would also save mods time to have to go and lock thier thread. Not sure if this would be hard to script or not.

    Thoughts?

I would support this. I can not see an obvious reason why it should not be allowed.

No support, someone who scams might close their thread to prevent others from posting warnings.

Its hard to find a reason why this wouldn't be a good idea. However this may be un-codable for 1 and also from past experience would mean members would have (if not coded) the ability to lock other peoples threads aswell which would be a nightmare

This is a fair point, however doesn't actually make sense as he is talking about locking threads, not closing. + how would you know a guy is coming to call you a scammer in the first place?

This is on the DNS list under 'Giving non-mod users mod powers' part.

I support this, as it would be nice to be able to thock threads once you are finished with them.

But I hate to say it, but this is probably very unlikely that staff would ever go through with this. I'm sure people would find ways to abuse it and would be creating messes of locked threads left, right, and center.

This has been suggested and denied before and it is on the DNS list because the staff does not want non staff having staff powers for fear of abuse.
