what's the golden rule? I dun get it

 

The "Golden Rule" is another way to refer to the "golden ratio." This is a principal knowledge of design and the understanding of what the human eye finds pleasing in measurement.

Two parts to one on either side to balance. Each of these shapes represented follows these rules, where horizontal and vertical lines are concerned.

 

Oh, I thought the golden rule was "treat others the way you want to be treated".

I knew about the golden ratio though

 

I honestly don't think this was a very effective use of the golden ratio in art; the concept is good but the execution is hugely lacking.
