    Hazing can get pretty traumatizing for the kids involved sometimes. I've never really heard of anything like that around where I live and I've always assumed its more of an American college/university thing.

    I was thinking about joining a frat at my school, but quite honestly, this is partly why, my school is also notorious for hazing, some freshman died 3-4 years ago due to getting hazed.

    Hazing may be illegal, but so is drinking underage in America (drinking age is 21) doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

    I can confirm that hazing is rather popular in southern states (they typically have the highest greek system turn outs rates among students)
