Adding just sythe.org makes pages display like this [IMG]

It takes a half second to uncheck the box when browsing Sythe, check the box when browsing other sites.

Yeah I know, but then I might aswell use the built-in forum function to turn all images off.
(In edit options on sythe turn off 'show images')

I hope you can understand that it's not really an option to browse sythe all day without seeing signatures or pictures at all.
It's extremely annoying and pretty much undo-able I'm sure everyone will agree with me >.>

What? You can easily implement the exact sort of image host whitelist you've been suggesting this whole thread.

    I tried, I don't think it's possible?
Like I said I'd have to add every site I will ever browse on..?

The whitelist on firefox is for every embedded image, including buttons and such.

I might be missunderstanding you or something I'm not sure lol.

Only use the white list when you're browsing Sythe, the rest of the time just load images automatically. Add sythe.org (which will display all forum buttons, avatars, etc) and whatever image hosting sites you want for signatures / posts / PMs. This would give you exactly what you've been asking for while browsing Sythe. Recheck "load images automatically" when you're not browsing Sythe and everything loads normally.

It's one possibility, but this is ofcourse no practical solution, I switch from site to site all the time and I'd have to toggle the button like what, 50 times a day?

Why can't we implement this on sythe sometime and protect all our users from this at once? Like I said, I'll make the complete whitelist myself, it's no problem. The maintainence of the list is also pretty much nihil.

So let me get this straight, by merely seeing the image on sythe they get your ip?

You could also do this with firefox portable and use that to browse Sythe and your regular browser for everything else. I don't think that's really impractical. When there's an issue affecting a minority of users, it makes more sense to resolve the issue on your end than to make changes to the site

    Yep.

Looking at the future growth of Ddosing, DOXing, Social Engineering and such now a days I think it's a good thing to provide this security measure to all the Sythe users.

It is really not just me who is a victim of this, alot of people are also victims of this without even realising. Also a few people in this thread have posted they have experienced being a victim to this.

Ugh. Quit crying. You honestly have no idea how easy it is to get someone's IP address.

You use MSN. I could get your IP from MSN in a few seconds. BIG DEAL. If someone wanted your IP bad enough, they can get it without even trying. I'm closing this as we aren't going to blacklist/make a whitelist of approved image hosts just because you're not computer savvy enough to realize exactly how easily IP addresses are obtained by the everyday user.
