Star Wars: The Old Republic Basics Desktop Background Suite

Created as part of a suite of background displays in honor of the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic MMMORPG set to launch on December 20th, 2011.

Having 14 in total, this gallery details "basics" style logo backgrounds available in 1080P resolution. Set to the "2/3" rule of photography, these background images work well as a PC/Tablet background, or an Android/iOS background with an artistic feel.

I intend to work on high-quality HD backgrounds in the coming weeks as well.

 

Not bad bud could use a bit Smudging IMO but thats just me

 

The colors are way too pastel and I would not use them because they're way too bright. I don't know what you want but I think they're as you describe 'basic', nothing that couldn't be done in illustrator in 5 - 10 minutes and then recolored to produce the different outcomes.

 

Accurately described, I've been working for about half an hour in Photoshop and popped out a "3D" basic Galactic Republic logo.

I am not really looking for critique, though any constructive is appreciated in this folder. This is more a thread for those interested in SWTOR backgrounds.

Expect a full HD, metalic, 3D, thematic wallpaper to arrive in the coming weeks.

 

As said, they're not artistically exuberant or noteworthy, but they're definitely professional looking backgrounds. Clean and uniform, besides the 3D ones. Those could use a bit of texture, and could do without the black outlines. It would also make them all pop a bit if you added a subtle stony texture overlay to the colored backgrounds. They could also do with a bit of simple lighting. A radial gradient from the base color to something just a half shade darker, obeying the rule of thirds would look nice. But that's entirely my style, keep them the same if you feel it would disrupt the theme you have going.
