    Inherit Or Gain?

Ok, imagine if you had a multi-billionaire family and you can get anything you desire you make the shots. Would you inherit the money or gain it?

By gaining I mean working and putting dedication to it; To achieve what you want.

I say gain. My reasoning is because when you really work hard for something that redeeming feeling what you finally get what you wanted by working hard? I love that feeling.

To me inheriting is well here is the feeling of inheriting you can get anything you want but won't have that nice redemption feeling, it would just be whatever I can get everything....

Gain. It would be a much more rewarding feeling getting the money from putting hard work and effort doing something you love, then just being handed it.

It would also teach you fiscal responsibility, to a certain extent.

I would inherit and then gain. You need money to make money. With billions of dollars, I can invest in anything and do everything I've ever wanted to do.

Say you bought a buisness, you didn't work to raise that buisness you just bought it. Won't give you the true feeling.

The chances of building your way up to a multi-billion dollar business is pretty much impossible. Of course it feels better to have worked hard for something, but realistically I would take the easy way out because I know I wouldn't ever be able to achieve something that big.

i know the feeling you're talking about when you gain something. id inherit it then use that to make more money like Dimethyl said. when you inherit it you're already set and you can choose to gain whenever you feel like it. but if you only have the option to gain then its practically impossible.

It won't quite feel the same because you started it out with the cash. Now your buisness doesn't have to be a multi-billion company it can still be a nice company possibly famous.

The feeling you get from working hard and earning/achieving something is indescribable, but I still think it would be nice to just inheret a nice chunk of cheddar.

I think I would rather inherit the money, and then use it to invest and make more money, aswell as help other people out and share it with as many people as possible.

If I could work for the money and end with the same as if I inherited it then I would work for it, but if couldn't get that much I would inherit and make more and donate a lot of it. I also thought it would be cool to go and find really hard working people that don't have it that well and give them a better life.

    money ≠ happiness.

Material goods are only a temporary source of happiness.

Updated my post. Key word: temporarily source of happiness. Doesn't that remind you of... umm... drugs...? (happy till your sober again)

I would inherit it...then spend the rest of my life lounging around...I already work hard enough for nothing...I'd like to be able to just sit back and spend time with my family...

If drugs got you arrested, 80%+ of our population would be in prison >_<. When I said drugs, I wasn't talking about legality of it, just a comparison of the effects(short term happiness).
