Would be the first time 100k players were online since the bot ban. Looks like people are coming back.

It's Sunday. Sunday is the biggest day cuz no one has work/school or any evening plans so everyone gets on rs.

What is interesting is that rs has gained about 60k subscribers (a 10% increase) since discontinuing hiscores for free players

 

I still don't think discontinuing hiscores for f2p was right...

 

What good does it even do besides making F2P players wanna go P2P?

 

It seems like a good move on jagex's behalf , It saves them money and then again 90% of f2p accounts have rubbish stats so there's no real point of f2p hiscores.

 

I agree with you, but it's more money for Jagex this way. I still want to know how much Jagex makes now a month compared to a few months ago with all the bots.

 

This. I think the highscores should be for paying members anyway.

 

Can't complain if you aren't paying to play their game.

 

Im partially torn on the highscores being members only, 95% of the f2p community are rubbish stats and people's mess around pures. But there is that 5% that think f2p is more challenging to achieve a 99 so they remain free to play purely for the challenge.

 

I've noticed people are coming back by looking at the emptiest world. When bots were nuked there was about 10 people in the emptiest worlds, now its gone back up to 100.

 

There is always a massive increase in players online on Saturday and Sunday. People have a bit more free time and the school/work week is over and so they jump on RS.

It will be interesting to watch the steady increase in players from now on however. Lets see how effective Jagex's little marketing ploys are.

Its not far from believable. Even before rsbots and rsbuddy were destroyed many people with huge bot farms developed their own scripts. These private developers would run 100s of bots most likely.

 

Or they just cant afford members.
