I don't even see what all the fuss is about really. I don't have a problem with gay people at all.

Attraction, whether it be male or female, is a chemical reaction in your body, much like 'love' (which is a reaction which strengthens the infatuation factor between the two individuals). We're born with a natural attraction in a certain gender, based on the level of reaction (if the female attraction outweighs the male, you'll be attracted to females). I believe a balance in the chemical results in a bisexual orientation.

I have no problem with homosexual people. The thing I disagree with is them getting married. Marriage is between a man and women. I think there should be something that is the equivalent to marriage, but don't call it marriage. I know its just a word, but that word means something to me and I don't want it to mean anything else.

Great, you have no problem with homosexuals - except for the fact that you think they should have less rights than you.

Sorry to dig if this is at the bottom but I have to comment.

    - So you're COMPLETELY fine with it, so long as you don't have to interact with it, see it, smell it, hear it, think about it in your life at all? Hmm doesn't seem like you're as accepting as you make yourself out to be.

Also the fact that you feel inclined to hit another human being because they hit on you shows your either you yourself are pathetic, or you're so brainwashed by your homophobic environment that you could actually think that is acceptable.

But don't worry, you're definitely showing your masculinity and heterosexuality by acting like an ape.

I have no problem with them being together, but I do believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.

So glad you had to bring up those points instead of me. Thank you.

The whole issue concerning using the word "Marriage" with homosexuals is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time. It's a way politicians can approve of same-sex marriage but please their anti-gay followers. When you say you don't agree with using the word Marriage to denote the relationship status of homosexuals, you make yourself seem ignorant. To be wed is to not only have your commitment legal and seen in the eyes of the law, but allows for couples to share benefits of health insurance and what not. By trying to coin a different phrase for same-sex marriage, you are still ostracizing them and separating yourself from them.

As for the inbred who said he wanted to punch the guy for hitting on him. Why? 10 bucks says that half the shit you do with your guy friends and say is far more "gay" than anything a homosexual has every said or done to you. Does it make you feel good knowing that you just proved you weren't gay? Or does it make you feel as if you're pointing the limelight away from you? I think that when people openly bash and show such ignorance, they are trying to prove that they are not gay. You say you're not, but sub-conscientiously you have some need to prove to everyone around you that you're not. Hiding?

    Out. Now.

Honestly, that's a completely irrelevant topic. I'm 18 in January. I have just finished my senior year of highschool. I am passionate about mathematics, science, art, music, culture and languages. I nowadays try to remain as far from bias as possible such as to look at things as they are, rather than what society wants them to be (and this, paired with my best friend / ex girlfriend's influence, is why I am pansexual). You know what? After my senior year, I started a RuneScape account and began to play it. Why would a sophisticated academic and prospective engineer such as myself want to play a game like RuneScape? FUN, for God's sake.

Take your nonsense elsewhere. There is no use for it in SFA.

    ---

As for the topic at hand, this is what I believe: Love is love. Humans are humans. If you have one mind, and its mortal vessel changes - say, from male to female - it is still the same mind. If the mortal vessel remains the same, it is still the same mind. In essence, no matter what gender, a human is and will continue to be a human and likewise a human mind is but one thing and will continue to be one thing: a human mind. If that consciousness finds itself attracted to another person or entity, who are we to tell them they can't feel for that entity?

As an extension to what I have just said, this is also why I can't find nor feel a conceivable difference between loving a male or female, and therefore I find pansexualism to be the most logical and fulfilling sexual philosophy, however it is not my place to tell people what they believe so unlike the extremists mentioned in the original post, I will not press this further.

Homosexuality, here in Australia is forbidden. I have a few gay friends who are 'normal', just gay. So what?

Imo, governments put this fine to make money from fines for homosexuals. I know here its a $5000+ fine for caught homosexuality, but dunno what its like in other countries. They use religous sayings as an excuse. This is what I think though, i could be wrong.

Imo gay people are used as scapegoats so people have something to rage about to distract themselves from their problems irl. If they want to be gay then thats their choice, you shouldn't try to prohibit them living their life as they want to.

    Its simple :
if you are a boy and you love a boy and you become happy; that's good isn't it? because in lands where it's forbidden ... there these man have to live together with a woman they will never love...
It's the 21 the century ... cmon everyone deserverse the right to chose ... And in fact who are 'you' to say every man needs a woman , its god's will.
If , and I repeat IF there is a god , why should he create something that he wouldn't want ? That's my opinion

    Sorry, discussion ISN'T closed.

It's hilarious you'd put your homophobic bull in the same context as Runescape whilst discussing "maturity". You've just hit the realisation that people don't agree with your views and are trying too hard to take the spotlight off of yourself.

I think it's even worse people disagree with gay marriage, but not gay relationships. Why should marriage be between only man and woman? Gay couples are able to commit to the vows given at marriage, am I missing something? "They" deserve as much happiness marriage may or may not bring them as any heterosexual couple. I don't however believe marriage is essential for happiness in any way, shape or form and if a gay couple claim they can't be happy without it, I disagree they will be happy after it.

That's my piece, for now. :)

You're completely missing the point. Read the discussion. Most people do agree with my views. The reason I'm trying to close the discussion is because I got flustered and made some embarrassing comments. Because of this the whole thing has gotten out of hand. That's not what this discussion is really about. Did you even read the OP at all??

The arguement of marriage being between only a man and a women due to religious concerns is ridiculous in this day and age.

Marriage has more to do with finance than it does religion in the 21st century.

Anyone who claims they "are fine with it as long as they don't see it," or anything along those lines are hypocrits.

Any mature, rational, understanding, and intellectual person in this day and age should come to the conclusion that gay relationships should be socially acceptable, whether it is your own person preference or not. Arguing the opposite will only end in you embarrassing yourself.

& this is all comming from someone who is straight.

    /close.
