Muslim gang let off sentence because they was not used to being Drunk.

I don't buy that was the first time they got drunk. They probably had previous experience and was just using their religion as an excuse.

 

They should get punished for what they did, even if they were drunk -.-'

The judge had the full facts of the case in front of him, we have some sensationalist tabloid articles.

I can't even find the actual quote from the judge saying that their religion influenced his verdict. Looks to me like the defense only put that argument forward, and that newspapers are misrepresenting the judge.

Either way, six-month suspended sentences aren't "no punishment". It's not even inappropriate if they had no criminal records.

I'm all for equal rights, but this is a DOUBLE FUCKING STANDARD. If there were say, 4 White women who were say, Mormon ( as they don't drink ) who got drunk and said "kill the black slag" as they took turns kicking them THEY WOULD BE IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR ASSAULT AND RACIALLY MOTIVATED ATTACKS.

Taking this to the extreme, even the idea of racially motivated attack should be abolished, because, in essence, that is racist in itself. Just a charge of assault should have landed the gang long enough in prison anyways.

The sentence was not atypical and the controversy is stirred up by crappy tabloid articles full of misinformation and the people who take them seriously.

 

This wasn't a racial attack . I'm not saying these girls were justified in what they did, but I'm definitely not saying that it wasn't provoked either because it was provoked. These women are obviously not true muslims and only said this in attempt to receive the mercy of the judge. If they were true muslims they wouldn't have done action a which led to action b. They received a suspended sentence, which adds on the time for the first offence, plus the time for the second offence if they were to do it again as well as receiving community service and curfews. While I might not agree on what the consequences were, saying they got off scotch free is rather an understatement. Just the usual propaganda by the media to make everyone look bad and to sell newspapers.
