Race And Intelligence.

It's an important subject and popular one in newscience mostly. There's a huge difference between the races & intelligence, what's the affects that caused it? And I would like to know your views on this subject, I'm begin called ''racist'' every time I bring this topic up even though I just state a fact.

 

Well the statistics are there, up to you whether you want to use them as basis for prejudice or not.

 

No, it's culture and work ethic. I am Australian - i go to school, play sports, socialize, slack around, life of leisure. My Asian Australian friend, goes to school, studies, plays sport, studies, sticks with his family and their networks during the weeekend and yea..

No such thing as multi-culturalism thats for sure lol.

i don't think race has anything to do with intelligence that doesn't even make sense. how does the culture and skin color of a person relate to their brain. A White,Mexican,Black,Indian and Asian person all are human and are equal. i think the environment a person is placed in has a huge effect on the mentality or mindset of a person but not his intelligence. that statement is pretty racist though . and why do you think race and intelligence have a big relationship?

Regardless of whether the two are directly correlated, anyone trying to bring it up will be deemed racist. It's too sensitive a topic and people would hypothetically argue that IQ can be linked to one's environment despite hypothetical evidence to the contrary.

 

I defiantly think the environment and culture outweighs anything else.

 

Looks like we found the dumb race. Not to mention the sentence as a whole is incoherent. Come back when you have evidence (not anecdotal) and actually have a thesis to support.

 

I think this is what the OP is aiming at. Due to remains of prejudice in the past, african americans are less likely to be middle/upper class than white people, meaning they have a worse education.
also in some countries like china or somalia / whatever where white people are not predominant and the entire country is poorer, education is not as good as in western countries and people still have less opportunity and such.

Not a matter of what you look look on the outside, its a matter of what opportunity you have, and because white people took advantage of the chance to kill everybody early on, they are still reaping the benefits today.

 

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's a closer correlation between culture and intelligence than there is race and intelligence.

 

I think it has more to do with environment / surroundings that the person grows up in, not really their race

Different people have different innate physical abilities. Not everybody can be Stephen Hawking, nor everybody Usain Bolt. People often confuse race, which has become something of an archaic term, and ethnicity, which heavily revolves around culture. I don't know that any ethnic intelligence gaps exist, but if they do, I would suspect they would be based on the ineptness of the test itself rather than that of the subject.

 

Knowledge can be acquired by anyone, but mental capacity varies, and isn't restricted to race.

Are you black or what? I'm an aryan and what kind of evidence do you want? The difference of IQ between the races?

 

A study was done few years ago where they tested black kids that was adopted. They had white parents and lived a life similar to the white kids. The IQ was still 20 lower. Environment? Nah.

 

how can you base a whole race on a few samples. that test wouldn't be valid at all. the kids are adopted, that adds another variable to the experiment, there are a lot of variables that could effect that. and when you made the title "race and intelligence" it doesn't mean just black and white races, so far you've only posted "facts" about the two. there are a lot more races than 2, since you know 4 languages id think you would include a lot more facts and evidence about other cultures to support your main statement. you seem biased, and kind of racist by the statements you've posted so far.

 

White and black ain't the only races - and not what I based it on. It's what the study is based on.

 

you havnt used anything to support the topic so far but "facts" about blacks and whites. im saying include some statement of opinion or ever facts on why you believe race and intelligence have such a strong bond.

Basing intelligence off race IS racist. Intelligence has NOTHING to do with race. Correlation does NOT equal causation.

Oh? Most African-Americans have lower IQ's? Well no shit when you look at OTHER factors such as environment, development, etc.
