Well can you explain me why the bulk-prices are lower ATM? Is it because the P-Hats dropped?

 

I am glad they don't touch buyers but I do understand why gold merchants may be affected in a way due to their cash being deleted. To a big gold seller as yourself it may not be a problem but to the people that are just setting out and losing few hundred million GP or a few bill may ruin their business.

 

Whatever Jagex is doing, I don't think it is in fear of the economy. If eliminating the GP is so bad, then they could simply use the same amount of money (or a percentage) as was deleted to buy a basket of items off the GE and then delete those items.

Big sellers could be made near totally unprofitable if Jagex started using regular sting operations, but like you said, they probably don't do this so that they can keep membership money. Also, unlike botting, RWT has a less visible effect to the legit community and is much less protested than botting was. Basically, they are trying to maximize the number of people that they keep happy right now.

 

What if the player just happens to have billions of GP, but all earned legit? Like they played during RSC and collected phats.

Legit players are not affected. It's only the people who trade or receive large amounts of gp regularly.

 

Since they have (in)effectively create a money sink then the buying power of GP will rise, but I don't think we will see an actual price increase for a while. This is because of gold seller competition between the Asian gold farmers and the gold merchants.

 

They just wipe the level 3s with max cash and Chinese Ips. Ive xfered around 500m on and off my account with no ban/wipe so its safe to say most players/buyers are pretty safe

 

I dont think 500m is that much to be noticed, its like why wipe small accounts if there are accounts with a lot more.

 

Like Pleasent said, they are targeting the accounts that have a large amount of rsgp traffic taking place on them regularly. I don't think that deleting the accounts gp is going to make any significant immediate affect, but if they stick with it, then it most definitely will. I mean, the only source for rsgp sellers is to buy it in bulk at lower prices, and sell it to smaller time buyers I assume. Since botting is gone, gold farming is basically extinct. Eventually, there won't be the surplus of GP to be bought/sold like there is now.

 

The drop of rares, mainly phats was inevitable. not because of the large removal of cash from rwt'ers, but the removal of dicing. yes it is still possible to dice, such as the irc channel dragon dyce made to host, but the popularity of it has defiantly went down. People are no longer willing to pay the full price of a parryhat because they know that they will not be able to make the money back as easily. Also, because of dicing, many inexperienced merchanters have been able to obtain partyhats. With this they do not know how the charts/street prices work, thus they may get nervous when they see a dip and panic sell their item, in which causes the item to drop more. partyhats have inflated because of the return of the free trade and dicing. with one of the major factors cut from the game (slowed and less popular, not completely removed). the partyhats will fall

 

I for one am happy partyhats are coming back down....they weren't suppose to go that high until a few more years

 

Everyone forgets the actual value of GP. With bots gone the game has a narrower demographic and at the moment RS isn't that popular hence GP simply isn't "worth" the money.

I reckon a lot of trading is between large gold flippers and smaller gold flippers lol.

 

ALthough I miss botting, its alot better with them gone to actually play fairly aND it does suck that prices are going up on items and down on RWT... sooooo we're gonna have to deal with it cuz its happening. and its what their doing..
