Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, did you collect?

Man I spend like thousands of dollars on Pokemon cards. Pokemon was like the biggest thing during my childhood I mean EVERYONE just talked about Pokemon. Remember at recess we would play gameboy colors and just trade pokemons cards, I mean like half the school would be into this. Afterwords we would then play soccer or something. Gave it up when I hit fifth grade. Half the time though we are just doing Pokemon stuff. Good times. I did give most of my collection away to other kids, as well in my family kids has some of them as well but I still have a couple rare and expensive ones such as an ancient mew that was worth hundreds back in the day. They are somewhere in my attic...gotta love childhood.

 

didn't you get that card from going to a movie? was never that expensive I think..

 

I remember buying the pokemon movies on DVD because you'd get cards with them once my friend had a pretty rare shiny charizard that was worth quote a little but he ripped it up out of pressure in people wanting it. That freaking retard.

I collected a shitload of Pokemon cards when I was younger. I pride myself in my collection too because I never once bought & paid for a single card I was always "the poor kid" growing up, and so my friends used to give me one of their doubles & triples, and I would trade for a better card and trade that for more cards etc.

I have a box in storage right now that probably has around 5000 Pokemon cards packed in it, possibly much more. They are mostly the older, and original Pokemon, but I think I have some of the new ones aswell. I also have a binder stored away with the box that is just filled with shiny cards, which I believe I have around 150-200 in total (a few doubles too). I even have a mint condition Charizard that has never been opened before!

My plan is to hold onto them until I either have kids, or until I am much older and then see if I can sell them.

 

I actually found a whole tonne of yugioh cards the other day looking through my shit, now that I think back, the idea of it is actually pretty good, it's just more fashion that makes them dead, kinda sad tbh, if something like that was more popular we'd have more people thinking and planning and less blasting zombies brains out. -waits for troll-

 

i still have tones of yuigoh cards in my attic i loved playing, collecting them. I quit after every1 else stopped playing because i had no1 to play with. Tbh if there were ppl to play with id still be playing.

i alos remember collecting pokemon cards but i didnt spend a penny. I just went around for the whole yard asking for free cards and i actually obtained alot. I also remembering just going to burger king because they gave u a rare card if u bought a meal

 

I only have about 4594584958498 cards from collecting back in the day...

I just remembered, I used to have 5000 of the things then some fucker stole my bag with all my cards! Ended up collecting another 4000~ later though.

When I collected Pokemon cards it was more just for show and trading with other people in school. Everyone had them where I lived. This was in elementary I never did understand how to actually play the card game and still have no idea. I've tried to learn about a year ago. 18 at the time, and still don't get it lol but I don't really care.

As for Yugioh that was 6th-8th grade probably. I had a ton of them, I traded and actually played the game which was probably learned from the show, because it was the same idea. Also from video games. I never sold them and probably still have them lying around some where.

 

i use to collect pokemon cards all the time i couldn't wait to go to borders and get a few booster packs when they first came out i ended up donating them to Ronald Mcdonald house charity in my town while doing a project in high school and the kids loved them. Definitily one of my favorite things that i had when i was a kid was pokemon cards i thought i was just the coolest kid on the block when i got holographics in the booster packs i had probably 2 of every original pokemon cards was a good feeling to pass them on to kids who couldn't afford them.

 

I did collect a couple thousand back in the day, heh. If I knew any of them would have any value today I wouldn't have given them away

When I was little I collect alots of Pokemon , Yu-gi Oh and digimon cards and when I don't need toys/ those cards anymore I let my little sister have them....although I think she ripped all the cards o.o

 

I would defiantly still be playing yugioh if anyone else played, I love those memories

 

I wish Yu-gi-oh, hell, any of those good TGC's were extremely popular.

Not like, OH HEY I can go to a tournament on Sunday at the local game shop!
But like, Xbox Live - everybody plays that shit.
