    A disheartening appeal for ritzbits

Before you begin reading my appeal, please read here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1288993

On 12/2/2011, I submitted a fake scam report on n4n0's thread. I had some suspicions on whether or not it was real, and it appeared it was true. I registered back in Sythe back in December 2009, and up until then I had gained 30 legitimate vouches. I had only had ~297 posts, but those posts were legitimate, unlike many who had simply gained posts just for the reason of garnering trust. I already knew it when n4n0 replied to my spam forum, "hammered." I will not try to ban evade, and if this appeal is denied, I will re-appeal in 6 months. I am highly disappointed with myself, and I fear that this will ruin my reputation on other vBulletin websites. I can't explain what I've done right now- I've lurked almost everyday (I don't post that much). I would gladly accept a permanent TWC or ban on trading, I like the Sythe community. I simply can't, I've only had one account ever on Sythe, but it looks like it has ended. I understand scamming is dishonest, but it was incredibly stupid of me to try to scam n4n0.

    just ugh
But as the old saying goes: The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Pulling a stunt like this is seriously a waste of time, in my opinion. You caught a few no-names, a $100 donator, and a member that is already banned. As Sarco said in IRC "Well, this is the problem with opportunists. People who arent bad people, but in a situation with a high enough success chance, are willing to be bad." Who will give this opportunity to a leecher in any other situation? No one because the majority of this site isn't that stupid. What would happen if a normal member tried to pull this sting operation? Many of the members of this community, myself and many others included, were going to step up and provide any assistance we could and how does this make us feel? Like we were stupid, but I suppose no good deed goes unpunished. (quote from Emperor Nero).

I am really a good guy, I knew I shouldn't have tried posting that n4n0 scam, it's just one mistake I ever regret committing on Sythe. I use the same username on each website, ritzbits. I'm linked to many communities, but to be banned on this website is very, just, not good for me. I thought it was similar to FireZ's similar ban of dishonest people in his giveaway thread where you had to post, but this is most disheartening.

Here's the story of my day: I live in mini soda, or Minnesota, US. I'm a regular member on Sythe and I like to play the computer. I'm 15. I woke up around 7:05 because my mom had woken me up late, and I needed some time to shower. At around 7:35 I left for school, and today was a early release day. I can provide all proof. I'm really trying to be an optimistic fellow- but this in no way is optimistic, they have good values. At around 7:52, I arrived at school, put my stuff into my locker, and went down to the library to work on studying my vocab (I always do that, I don't usually study at home). The day was short throughout day, with 25-30 minute classes. I decided to skip skiing practice because my calf was hurting and not very many would be there. I came home on the bus and got home around 2:40ish. I started browsing Sythe there soon after.

Another quote from N4N0's MSN thread: "I'm quite surprised that this ploy was allowed at all, I think that this is a topic really similar to counter scamming (which I'm pretty sure is not allowed either....) I just got internet back, and am just reading about this now but at first glance I find it ridiculous.

Granted, you had good intentions, I just don't think that it is at all right for staff to be lying and doing actions like this. If a normal user were to do somethin like this, they would get banned, obviously. That is why I don't think that it is right for Staff to do things like this, it is setting a very bad example for members, let alone it is a bad act to begin with. The methods for catching scammers that are already in place work fine, this was unnecessary and I feel like it was probably done more out of entertainment and curiosity purposes, rather then the thought that it would effectively catch people.

I don't really sympathize for the people banned, they are obviously idiots, and this ploy just gave you guys a reason to ban them. Although I just don't agree with the methods that were used to go about doing so. It is all over now, and there is nothing more that really matters but I don't see how it should even be a debate for you guys about using methods like this. I would really really hope that this type of thing wouldn't be attempted again, just let the current system do what it has always done...

This is just my thought at a quick glance, I am just seeing this all now so my judgement is just based off of the first posts in this thread and the n4n0s msn is hacked thread. Ill try to post a little bit more later.." (SCOTTAY).

I am an idiot, I just threw away everything I had on Sythe. Not just my 30 measily vouches that aren't considered much in regards to other who are able to somehow attain 30 vouches in a month, or my 297 post count which is also not very much, but the time I had spent on Sythe, how I've grown attached to Sythe. Before I decided to create a fake scam report, I thoroughly read n4n0's scam forum. I had some suspicions, and my thoughts originally would be "don't do it, it's bad." I should've listened. From all the English books and stories I've read, from archetypes @ psychologist Carl Jung, to myths about Faustus.

These quotes are from my unregistered viewings, I reset my IP address by power cycling my internet modem. If I really wanted to ban evade, I could make a new account. I however, stick with the name ritzbits, a name I have grown attached to, and I would not dare change for a false alias while ritzbits remains banned. I have other accounts on vBulletin websites, and all those have good intentions. Please review my profile here: http://talkprizes.com/members/ritzbits.html
This is me. Please view all of my posts, anything you would like to take a look at.

I'm really quite in how do you say.. ruins here. I'd like to say how sorry I am, and would like to apologize to n4n0 for attempting to scam him. Facebook, he can check out my profile and see what kind of a person I am, though I don't really go on facebook that much. I can talk to somebody on facebook; video chat if really necessary but I'm actually a shy person. I would just like to say here, i'm a normal 15-year old, and here's something that brings to my mind after this. Human beings in their natural state have a “perpetual and restless desire” for power; this creates enmity, competition, diffidence, and perpetual quarreling. This is a quote from a write-up I wrote up for AP European History, a class that i'm taking, a quote from Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century English philosopher. I don't know much about the active members on Sythe, but I suppose they're much older than me, and able to trade with the money they have. I'm just 15, I don't have a job yet or my license yet. While waiting for a reply to my fake scam report, I talked to Karl about how Sythe is pronounced. I think Sythe has really great moderators, but ah.

Has anybody else been given a second chance in their life? I would really like one now, it's just an internet forum (I've always thought it was form until recently when my teacher pronounced it for-um), but I've really honestly grown attached to Sythe, even though I could just leave.

The reason for my late post after the banning is because I had fallen asleep. I drank a can of coffee that I had gotten from Trader Joe's, but I still fell asleep. To be banned on Sythe, would mark a really bad December. There are December updates on RS that are coming, and I really thought there were good. I've basically had sleep deprivation over the past week, when I fell asleep with my dog at my side on the couch, I stopped thinking about Sythe. I think I woke up in the middle of my sleep, but I don't quite remember. When I woke up, at 11:38 PM- I usually look at my computer history to check the times I fell asleep, I saw that I was banned. It is now 12:23 AM Saturday, and I'm waking up in around 8 hours to get up.

My browsing history for Google Chrome.

When I saw that I had been banned on Sythe, it was really just, disheartening. I was disappointed in myself too. Everybody, and I mean everybody must be affected by greed. Please think in-depth about the human nature. I remember Feren Silver, he had a great reputation and was very involved in Sythe, but he attempted to scam ~10b, supposedly. I had purchased an account from him shortly after he was banned. Now, if I was given the opportunity to scam 10b, I could never do such as thing, I think. I would honestly say "I would feel bad for the person who just lost $5000." But that is only theoretical, in the actual situation one might decide differently. I sort of think the ban was fair, but ugh, to be banned on Sythe right now, is really putting a strain on me. It wouldn't go as far to affect my life that much, but it distresses me. I would be perfectly fine with a permanent TWC and a ban from trading as well, I wouldn't mind at all, as long as I was unbanned. The signs of a lure was really quite obvious, the "Paying back those who got scammed" in the title, and other details about it, but I still went for it.

I don't think anybody on Sythe knows me. It's just, ugh. Please scrutinize my appeal, I really hope it does something, otherwise I will have to painstakingly file for an appeal for 6 months. I wouldn't browse Sythe unregistered, I wouldn't have a voice or anything, and it would be annoying to have an unregistered notice. As I said before too, ban evading, is just, no. I really like Sythe and the community that it has, I'm certain I can be without it as a took a long break, but it would be very hard to have something replace it, and I would always be banned from Sythe. I understand that the Sythe staff is very, not open to appeals (from occasionally looking at Disputes), but, I would really like to try for an appeal. My final request is that I ask for whoever is reading this to look it over carefully, to review my account, my past, anything that would help. Not one person on Sythe really knows me, and I think it could help if they could, via facebook, in-game, MSN, or any other possible way and see what a good person I am, but I really feel that I am attached somehow to the Sythe community.
Sythe.org is a large virtual goods trading forum, with markets for world of warcraft, runescape, aion, and other games.
"Nobody is perfect and everybody has flaws, but it takes a real man and a real woman to look past those flaws."

    Thank you.
