Boxing & Mage Boxing guide.

Melle Boxing:

I've found out that when boxing ( Melle ) It's best to punch when you attack, and then quickly move to block when he is attacking, This is why you see in most of the high stake video's ( Phat's ect ) that people stake they use this method, it is possible to just punch the whole way through a melle box but you have a higher chance of switching from punch too block.

Note: This is what i have found out in about half an hour of research it's not a massive guide but i've seen alot of people asking how do i box ect

Mage Boxing:

First of all one of the biggest misconception's is, If you have 99 defence vs 1 defence the person with 99 defence won't get hit as much, this is in fact false. the only stat that provides magic defence, is magic itself, this is why i advise you get 99 magic before you start mage boxing.

Obviously HP Helps a bunch, Mage boxing is more luck than skill ( compared to melle boxing ) but if it works on your side, the stake can be won within 10-15 seconds, I Mage box myself sometimes.

The best thing to do is to shadow barrage first of all, if you splash keep doing it untill your opponent hits over 200 then start using blood barrage, Blood barrage heals i think 10% of what you hit, this i'm not 100% sure on.

Disadvantages of using normal spells.

The biggest downfall of using armadyl storm, Is not being able to heal, and your opponent being able to get more hits on you.

This information was collected in roughly 15-20 miniutes, ill add one of my own staking clips, ( Mage Boxing ) using ancients, just to show you how the most effective ways to Mage Box are.

you're wrong about defense being useless in mage boxing, it actually constitutes 30% of your magic defense, just check the knowledge base

Ohh, i thought it was only magic that decides your defence, oh well as i said it's not 100% accurate

 

Armadyl storm is better than blood barrage hands down. If you go to mage box in world 54, people will make a point of saying "ancients only"

 

In mage boxing, make sure to "friendly duel" someone to test their spellbook. Then go ahead and stake them - some people will say ancients only, then have storm of armadyl.

By the way - I won ancients vs. storm of armadyl before, it's just pretty rare.

 

I dont know ive faced storm of armadyl many times and Ive beaten quite a number of times.

 

Yeah I have storm of arma with 99 Mage 99hp 80 def. and I lost to ancients A LOT.

 

how is the polymore compared to storm of arma now? is arma still op'd as hell? and doesn't think belong in guide sction?

Storm of Armadyl is just more consistent.

At 99 magic, it has a minimum hit of 110 and a maximum hit of 270. This puts the average hit (assuming no splashes) at 190.

Blood barrage has a minimum of 0 damage and a maximum hit of 290. Putting the average hit at 145. Factor in the 25% heal and you can say that the average hit for blood barrage is ABOUT 181. Giving Storm of Armadyl a 9 damage advantage (or approximately 1 constitution)

Which isn't TOO much. I am not sure, but Storm of Armadyl is a lower level spell so it might be more accurate because of this which might make it considerably better. However I cannot say this for sure.

glad i read this i kinda wanted to do mage boxing but it seems a bit more risky than just normal boxing

 

This is a very basic guide. I suggest if you guys want to know more then you'll have to do your own research.

 

it's hard to melee box sometimes, you gotta time it else u switch to fast to punch and block won't work...
