Never played minecraft but i heard some good things.
Anyone help me set everything up?
Does it cost anything?

It does cost something, and is very easy to set up. If you want a trial of it before you actually buy it, then PM me and I can loan you one of my spare accounts. However many people are instantly satisfied with their purchase after buying.

Enjoy it, if there's anything you're stuck on or don't know what to do then there's many tutorial videos on You-Tube.

 

I've got Total Miner: Forge on Xbox 360, it's similar to Minecraft and is strangely addictive.

 

Here's hoping Mojang gives a minecraft XBL arcade version a go. It's not that imitations are any worse or better, they just feel cheap and primitive to the original game to me. I've never been satisfied with FortressCraft or Total Miner as I am with minecraft.

@ the OP, as soon as my server comes back up, you should give it a look! We got really far with building before bukkit got outdated by Minecraft 1.0.0

 

Minecraft for XBL has been talked about for a long time, it was supposed to be released in December but got pushed farther into the spring. I am surprised you haven't heard of it before I am really excited for it,
