Girlfriend Christmas Present.. No money.

Hey everyone, Christmas is coming up and me and my girlfriend decided we're going to do inexpensive gifts.. (i can't afford an expensive one, so I don't want her to get me an expensive one ..)

What are some ideas of something I could do? I can spend up to $40, maybe more depending what the idea is. Thanks!

Have the same problem but have about 100$ to spend.. Your looking to buy her something but? Maybe a pair of shoes like converse or whatever shes in too.. And bring her out somewhere the day after christmas? And a nicely written card is always good.

You shouldnt be asking us what kind of gifts your girlfriend would like, we dont know her, does she have a hobby? Buy a gift she will use frequently as a hobby.

 

How long have you guys been together?

There were a few occasions, usually birthdays, where I used to make my girlfriend something special instead of spending money. We sort of had a tradition where on Christmas I would spoil her with very expensive gifts in the $400-700 range, and on her birthday I would often get something much less expensive (if I even bought her anything at all).

I would always write her a very lengthy, romantic letter, and a few times I made some sort of arts & crafts projects for her. One time I put a package together for her, with a letter titled "100 things I love about you". In the letter I included a very detailed list of all my favourite things about her. I also included a few pages of funny drawings of some of our favourite memories, along with a few paragraphs describing those events and how much I cherished them. I often included real pictures of us inside the package, or purchased an inexpensive, but nice picture frame and/or photo booklet to put all the pictures in. A craft like this can take hours and hours to complete depending on how much time you put into it, and how many memories you guys have together (usually depends how long you have been together). This is also a guaranteed success! There is no girl in her right mind who wouldn't melt over a romantic gesture such as this

If you guys are a fairly new couple though, then this may be going a bit out of your way. If that is the case, then maybe save this suggestion for further down the line when you guys have been together a bit longer, and bust it out on a similar occasion where your budget is a bit tight bit you want to give her a gift that will blow her mind Either way, good luck!

Even though it is cliche, it is very true when people say "its the thought that counts". A gift that you have put hours of your own time & thought into creating and putting together will be far more effective than running out and dropping $800 on a new purse. Atleast with the type of girls that I usually date..

a xmas present i remb my older bro doing for his gf when i was younger was...

He bought a cheap peice of jewelry beleived it was a necklace, Wrapped it up and took a cementblock, the ones with the wholes in it and wrote all over the block with a marker saying merry Xmas he <3 her stuff like that, and tucked the ring inside one of the holes and gifted wrapped the whole thing, She had no idea wth it was, and ended up liking the block more then the ring, she still has the block to this day lol.

 

Lmao! A cement block, I love that :laugh: That reminds me on a girlfriend I had when I was really young.. I went on a camping trip with my family and while I was walking on the beach one day with a friend, I found this big heavy rock that was shaped almost perfectly like a heart! I tossed it in the car and we drove it home at the end of the trip and I spray painted it red and carried it all the way to this girls house lololol.

She loved it and thought it was pretty funny. I must have looked like such a goof hauling this big ass red rock all the way to her place. I was too young to be able to drive or anything.

 

Aha , that's funny and also nice . My girlfriend and I were once at the library and they had these big rocks outside . So I grabbed my Black , Green , Yellow , and Red Sharpies out and wrote her name in like Rasta colors ( She loves Rastafari / Bob Marley ) . She was so happy for it and all that she literally took the rock home . Her mom asked her what the Hell it was aha .

OT: I think you should do exactly what Zerkerfist has said . Instead of buying her something , you should try and make / write her something really nice . Put a lot of meaning , love , and caring into it . And just use the money to take her out to dinner or to a movie .

We've been together about 7 months.

 

I don't really have any new advice to contribute; however, please don't follow this advice. The vast, vast majority of the time you'll end up single, and on the rare occasion it will work it'll only be with a girl who's either: a) totally unstable, or b) a whore.

 

Look into a necklace! Most of them aren't that expensive. That's what I'm doing for my girfriend of 5 months.

I'm takeing the girlfriend to Australia and i'm going to propose to her there , she has always wanted to go there and after the last time i went i know the perfect spot to ask her.
