style switching is the way to go, switching between defence and attack, if youre absolutely behind, kicking is a huge gamble but sometimes works.

 

Yea man boxing is such a pain in the ass. Just don't stake too much of your bank at once

As far as I have been able to find, there is no evidence that "style switching" actually gives you an advantage at all in staking...

I have asked around quite a few times and nobody has been able to provide me with that information. I've also watched boxing tutorials and the person usually explains that switching styles is "supposed" to give you an invisible +1 to that stat.

Sounds like a bunch of steamy horse manure to me If you can provide me with information that confirms that this does indeed help your chances of winning, then I would be very interested.

 

thats true, but you get the odd "mad" guy who box's hes bank and just leaves attack's on punch and sometimes pull it off so really its luck.

You gotta use accurate when hitting, defensive when they hit you. Simple as that. And get a good PID to have the first hit. There are a couple other tricks but I don't think they have leaked yet.

 

That's because a +3 stat boost doesnt guarantee you a victory, it merely increases the odds very slightly, and that's assuming your opponent isn't style switching as well, which is very unlikely considering how widespread this method is.

 

i never knew the style gave hidden bonuses o.o' is this a confirmed thing or just a Widely beleived thing?

 

It comes from RSC. Back then each attack style had a visible +3 bonus to their respective skills. With the game's transition to RS2 the bonuses are no longer visible but they're presumably still there. This is supported by the fact that using aggresive increases your max hit slightly, which suggests that accurate and defensive function in the same manner.
