    I've never heard it referred to as that, and I generally don't explore that genre, but from what i've heard, there can be some really good pre-shit hiphop out there. I should look into it more.

    I agree with that, early 90's and mid 90's. Also one of the best times for rock/grunge.

    JohnK, what happened to repping OF on every music section thread? I think 98/99 was also a great time period, thats early mf/blackstar/black on both sides/Moment of truth/slim shady lp



    no disrespect though. Fuck, the production was much better. Producers made tracks, not labels.
