You realize that most of the people banned barely had any vouches/rep right? And that "trusted" users don't do most of the scamming? And did you even READ what I wrote?

Not all but it still doesn't change a lot as they all still have to work back to where they were + they hopefully have learned from this.

My GP Lottery was the single most effective anti ban evasion thing ever done by anyone but Sythe himself....rather then let them roam all over I just had to check one thread to wipe out a huge chunk of them.....Not giving anyone any gp really didn't hurt anyone either.

 

Just out of intrest, were is proof that this was fake?

I kind of see that as persuasion I can't speak for any of the above but if that is similar to the format you guys talked to me with then yes it is persuasion if I had decided to join you.

Its like being undercover and telling somebody to go prostitute themselves and they won't get caught and you will share but in the end you arrest them.

Also nick stated all feedback is welcomed but some are forum banned for their opinion and others are getting fought against when they state theirs.

Some things you guys did were very well done but sadly this I can't say is one of them.

Edit: Also from the looks of the convos it looks like you were helping them create them unless they were all done on photoshop which I'm unsure of so yes it basically is pushing them through the door since your basically giving them the proof they would have wanted, which otherwise would not have been created. Unless I'm mistaken and they actually weren't talking to any of you on the msn and they created it on photoshop/ paint.

 

They would have either gotten a bit of rep, before scamming, now if they "make a new acc" they'll most likely get banned for ban evading, good ridence to bad rubbish imo.

EDIT: Also, I'm curious as to what you of done if some-one actually wanted to sell you... for example, 1b haha, would you of made it look so sketchy so he changed his mind or what?

 

I find this appalling, to be honest, I don't even feel it's worth my time expressing why, as what Viou has aforementioned is exactly how I feel. I appreciate that my opinion won't carry as much as Viou's, although I do feel it's necessary.

If anyone else did this kind of thing, they'd be banned. I feel ashamed that the staff support this, and more so the fact it was even done in the first place! Also, a mere 15 users banned or whatever it was I find is completely insignificant; look at all the drama, the posts, the time. Forgot everything else I've said, it's not like you stuck-up immature people will recognise it anyway, except that look at this whole situation. Hundreds of users have spent time reading over this pathetic, attention seeking event and what's it come to? 15 bans. Cool.

Feel free to argue with me, I couldn't care less.

Congratulations, you should be proud of yourselves, so many user's time: completely wasted.

 

I'd like to point out that the drama you speak of is completely made from you guys, so don't put that on us. The only people who should be mad here are the people who had intentions to do this and are mad that they would have possibly been caught by such a scheme.

 

Well when i first read the topic, i was thinking "HAHA suck shit to the 'attempting' scammers, to get a free bill" and good work boys, good way to get rid of scum lying around here on Sythe, saved innocent people from being scammed!

But after reading every single post on every page, it made me realise that it MAY be harder to trust staff in the future, but life goes on. Staff do need new ways to get rid of scammers here, and that was 'their' idea of going about it.
Atleast staff didn't take anything from the people wanting to help out, then that would of been a completely different story.

Nether the less guys, good job! Just next time, i think a new method of finding out scammers would be better, and not effect the community as much as this stunt did, and lose some trust within other users.

Good job on getting people who intended to scam banned but, I don't think lying to members to GET them to scam is right.
Not saying they should scam either way, just saying that lying is kind of a bad way to do it.

 

That wasn't me. I never STARTED conversations with anyone, and whenever anyone confronted me all I ever said was "lol I scammed ur gp owned".

And personally, all I'm seeing is that n4n0 offered you an opportunity to scam. He didn't coerce or trick you into doing anything.

Edit: I must say this was absolutely a smart 'trap' too.

 

I have to say I feel ashamed for trying to promote a user I thought was legitimately cheated on, but nonetheless, this plan actually worked for the most part. I can't say it was executed the best way, but there was still a detrimental effect to some dishonest members of the community.

 

If anything it taught the staff in ways of how we're going to have to handle hackings in the future and how we handle proof when people say they were scammed.
