Except for the fact that the new staff has it's own spell, which runs on very cheap charges. The max hit is also very nice. Both staves, and spells, kick ass.

I find it funny, how magic was ALWAYS pretty powerful when you added it to melee/ranged....now its insane, you can basically use mage to tank and destroy anything now...People will still probably say its "underpowered" but I never thought it was...I know for a fact that getting barraged over and over again when you're out of food or something is extremely deadly..Now add all these new spells and give mages defence that you can't hit through...seems mage is starting to be the most powerful thing in rs....

I mean whats the max mage def that you can get? like 150? ...the fuck...

anyways, what is the requirements for top? as in what def/mage level do you need..

Mod Ash: We were keen for people to need quite a lot of flakes, so that there'd be more opportunity for high-level Slayers to sell flakes for profit. That said, since people are using the armour for grinding in the Polypore Dungeon itself (I hadn't expected this to be economical!) it'd be better if they could gather flakes at least fast enough to repair their own armour. So I'll slow down the degradation of all the armour by a factor of about 3-4. This would make the defensive stats of the ganodermic kit even more overpowered than they already are, so I'll take the slash defence down at the same time. The change should come out in next week's update.

and what i heard is that alot of pro corpers use it.
