If you buy things from sythe read this

Mods i dont know if this is the right section or not if not i appreciate if you move it. I just wanted to tell people to be careful when buying things on this website! I did a deal just 20 minutes ago via Player Auctions. Idk if it was that PA site or the seller trying to scam, but right after i made the trade and completed the order i got an email saying it was from jagex "Your account has recieved an infraction for Real World Trading". Of course if that happens the first instinct is like "omg no not my acc" but pay attention! I did not even open the email because the email it came to is not even registered to my runescape account. It was a phishing email. I just want to warn people to pay attention if you buy gold or items. There are people that will turn around and try to phish those items right back.

 

Just saying but, the person who sent you that phishing email can be from anyone. Everyone receives atleast one even if they haven't made a trade on PlayerAuctions. Your situation may just be a coincidence, or it could actually be true.

Anytime your email is out anywhere you are going to try to get phished. It is obvious. It is just a coincidence that you go the email after a trade, because almost everyone gets these emails all of the time.

 

Everyone that posts their email on this site gets hit with Phishing emails on a daily basis.

 

Don't worry man, happens to all of us. I get those emails regularly, and quite often right after trades aswell.

I never got any of those emails until I joined Sythe anyways, so naturally the first one scared me a bit as I thought it was real. A quick, cautious inspection of the e-mail and the provided link proved otherwise. Just be careful, never panic and open things like that really fast without double checking.

 

Just gotta get used to it. It's not a fault of the site; merely a side-effect.
