What's With These Cheap '06 Hondas?

I was browsing through Craigslist and found multiple '06 civic and honda models being sold for $2k~$4k.
What's up with that?

Might be some sort of a scam. Was it mostly a repeat posting with the guy's email in fancy text and stuff? Cuz I searched near me and that was the case.

they certainly weren't reposts of the same cars.

I just searched up Honda and I found a couple of '06s in the price range.
Strange thing is, dealers seem to be the ones who are selling them.

 

a common scam for selling a car; the seller will drop the price to an irresistible low in order to get a deposit, once received the car will be taken off the website and all communication cut off. These ads are usually only up for a short amount of time as the site administrators take them down immanently.

this is not a first hand exirpence, just something i heard of (bought a car recently from looking on the net)

I literally just saw a commercial on TV about the local Honda dealer weekend sale where all the car prices were cheap as Hell . Maybe the recession is causing Honda as a company to plummet ?

 

I'm not sure but I'll tell you what Honda isn't a cheap car. 93' Accord. I have one of those with like 230k on it and it still runs like a champ.

Honda has exceptionally high resale value, even with a rebuilt title they would be ~7k.

 

So they probably will want you to send them the money first, rather than exchanging goods directly?

 

Wow... Don't send ANYONE money for a car. Unless it's a trusted friend or someone super trusted on Ebay. Always go check out the car and test drive first before even considering the buy. Trust me.. I've bought two cars before.

And as for those Honda's, it is definitely a scam unless there is something seriously wrong with them. I just recently bought a 2002 Honda Civic EX with 111,000 miles on it for $6,700 and that's a steal. I bought it way below the Kelly Blue Book value. Fuel efficient cars are at a premium right now, don't let anyone tell you different.

 

I think that's something that someone trying to scam would do to try to make someone feel safe sending an advance payment.

Yeah it does. It's over the bluebook value and no one pays that much.

No wait I paid $6,000. Still though, the used car market is very inflated today. You'll be pressed to find a better deal for the car I got.

I have a 98' Civic Ex with 151k miles. Hondas are great, aren't they?

Hondas are awesome though honestly. Great gas mileage and they are reliable.

My first car is going to be a honda civic tbqh, or a mazda, or a mitsubishi.
