    Jay Zee's High Pardon Request

    Hi there,

Haven't written one of these before, so my apologies if it gets a little long winded. I'll endeavour to make it as short and readable as possible.

I'm currently ban evading, and have been for the last 6+ months, on this account and one other (Disingenuous). I am uncomfortable with subterfuge, and I would much rather trade with people knowing that I'm not breaking a rule. My original account was named Jay Zee (http://ww2.sythe.org/~sythe/member.php?u=243290). I was banned for "Interest in hacked/stolen goods" around June this year; specifically, for posting on a thread in the RuneScape Gold Selling section on here where a user was selling RSGP off an account that he had purportedly hacked. I don't actually recall the exact content of my post, and it seems to have been deleted, but I was looking for some relatively cheap GP, and the seller had what I wanted at the time. Ironically, about half a minute after posting, I informed Farcast over MSN of the thread's existence, and foolishly assumed that nothing would happen. Ten minutes later, the thread was gone, and I was permanently banned.

I acknowledge that I made an error in judgement by posting on the thread. For a few months after my ban, I did nothing, as I was busy with work. At some point, however, I made a conscious decision to come back to Sythe. Initially, I had no account, because this one was made long ago by me in connection to another thread I'd made, but I soon found that it was extremely difficult to trade on sythe without having an account. At this point (around September) I created Disingenuous, which I used for several trades. However, I have forgotten the password to it as of late, and I've been using this account for a few weeks.

I have made a huge amount of trades in the time that I have been banned on sythe, both onsite and offsite. I would estimate the value to be $20,000+, although of course the number is only a guess. I haven't recorded my vouches on sythe because I've never been too bothered about them - Everyone that I reguarly trade with knows that I'd never scam, and that's always been enough for me. I've recently sold RSGP to several trusted sythe members such as Kero and jevon, and I've purchased accounts and skilling services off multiple users (Again including Kero :p). I've never scammed anyone, and as far as I'm aware I've never had a scam report filed against me on any site. I've also relatively recently become a moderator (equivalent to a Global) on another well-known site, which I can link to (plus my vouches on that site) if required. I don't believe that I was a particuarly bad user when I was active on Jay Zee - Just an average buyer/seller.

In conclusion of what has turned out to be a very long appeal, I'd like to reiterate my desire to be unbanned. I feel that I can be a worthy addition to the membership of this site, and I'm quite happy to answer any questions that any of you may have for me. If you got this far without skipping bits, then congratulations, and thanks for reading!

    Jay

    Additional point:
While researching the relevant links for this thread, I also came across a number of ban disputes that appear to have been linked to me somehow; Specifically, http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1244407 and http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1246725. I am not sure if the "Jay Zee" mentioned is me, because I've seen several other variations of my username on these forums, but if it is then I'd like to state that I had no knowledge of any of the appealing accounts prior to today, nor have I ever lived in any of the locations mentioned. Just thought I should clear that up in case the users had been falsely banned :/.

Ironic that those two were banned for evasion but your real evasion accounts haven't been banned yet.... =|

I support this pardon. Our rules are often extreme, but for a "minor" offense like this where there was no immediate harm done to another person, I can see a change of heart. Jay's been nothing but a pleasant fellow.

I support a vote on this one. I do think the offenses are minor as Kero said.
