Whats the difference between Lust and Love?

I'm just curious about what your opinion is on this.

 

They're the completely different.

Love = Someone / Something that you have that you care deeply about. Someone / Something you couldn't live without.

Lust = a physical desire.

Only thing that's in common is that usually lovers lust each other, but the words themselves have no similarities.

 

lust is wanting to rip someones clothes off and fuck them right there....love is wanting to stay after its done...

basically...

 

Lust - From my point of view, you don't love that person. You just want pleasure instead, you get that pleasure and you'll leave him/her.

Love - You love that person and you don't need to have sex in order to show that you love him/her. It's all about the understanding.

 

Lust is love purely motivated by sexual desire

 

Lust, doesn't have to be sexual desire. Lust can be the attraction to someone because of power, or things of that manner.

Love is when the happiness of someone else is essential to your own. ( I could go on and on describing love )

 

Hah, I've been wondering this for a while now, it's pretty easy to tell if your lusting for someone/thing or if you accentually love it. Lust is just a desire for alternative motives (examples being sex, money, power) while love is such a hard feeling to explain but when you feel it, it's so obvious your not feeling lust.

 

Lust-Mainly sexual pleasure, finding that person extremly attractive, so you stick it out, and stay with them even though it could be considered blind love to an extent. Assuming these two people are together. Not enjoying someone's company for their faults, but love the physical experinces.

Love-Caring and enjoying being with a person regardless of their faults.

 

Lust is for sinners, and love is something you have for your spouse as soon as your married in front of Jesus Christ in an authorized Church.

 

Yeah. throwing around your religions teachings in a general forum isn't going to get you many places. I'm just trying to warn you before a shitstorm ensues.

I personally am able to distinguish seamlessly between lust, and love. With lust, you are detached from that of which is desired, you are unwilling to commit, to be exclusive, you are selfishly after satisfaction and alleviation of your craving- as it is but a mere distraction.

Love is more complicated. Love is debilitating, and you are much easier consumed by it. You cannot apprehend love, and will be impaired of judgement trying to seek, or sustain it.

I'd say the difference is the emotional connection involved with sex. Lust can be a purely physical attraction driven upon impulse while love implies a deep emotional connection that extends beyond sexual attractions. Love is synonymous with romance, passion, intimacy and commitment, while lust is synonymous with self gratification.

 

lust is a physical sense of love. you just want that side of it it sorta floods your thoughts and actions on how you treat the other person. love is more of a mental side.

 

Passion, simple answer. Not a lot too it, pretty dumb question/thread if you ask me.

 

Lust = sudden need urge for a reason or sometimes no reason, temporary.

Love = Forever.
