Dos Santos deserves all the glory he can get right now, he has had the most difficult road to the Belt. I mean, i dont think they ever intended to give it to him like they gave all those title shots to the other recent champs. He was just steamrolling everyone in the division until there's noone left but him. the SF Hws were still with SF so they had no choice. Gave him Roy Nelson, beats him for no 1 contender spot. Cain gets injured, JDS chose not to sit out and was willing to take on Brock. He could've said no, but he did. Brock gets injured, they call up the dude who brutalized Brock to replace him. JDS dominates him for 3 rounds and finally gets the title shot.

I think almost every american fighter in their predictions voted against JDS. The brazilians of course chose JDS not because of his skill but nationality. But skillwise almost everyone had Cain winning. JDS goes in there and knocks him out in 60 seconds.

And there are people still going around saying "Cain would have won 9/10"
Come on, was it JDS's fault Cain came in with a "bad" gameplan? Next, what did they expect Cain to do? Shoot for takedowns halfway across the cage against someone known for his uppercuts? Cain was trying to set up his TDs with strikes, and trying to set up his striking utilizing the takedown threat against JDS. And on top of that he was using pretty good legkicks to try and slow JDS down. Cain wasnt able to get any real luck having JDS open up for a good TD shot, so thats why he decided not to shoot. JDS's footwork was preventing that as well, as hes using sideways movement and not plodding forward. Then JDS comes in with a left straight, Cain tries to counter with a right hook, JDS happened to throw the left straight as a feint and used the momentum to smash a huge-overhand right straight into Cains temple. And the fight was as good as over, Cain's body isnt responding as well as it could and JDS comes in and swarms him.

Cain's gameplan was not bad, he didnt choose to strike with JDS, he chose to try and setup actual GOOD takedown attempts WITH his strikes. Remember this was a minute into the fight, everyones expecting him to shoot 5 takedowns that JDS could see a mile away within 60 seconds. Come on guys, be serious. Cain maybe didnt pressure enough, by not clinching and etc, but that doesnt mean JDS still cant land a big shot on Cain, hes landed a big shot on every single other person in his fights. JDS didnt get lucky, he was the better man that night with the better game plan.

And and heres a nice fact i found out, the left straight feint and overhand right took .433 seconds to happen. Thats how fast JDS was.

Am i calling JDS GOAT? no im not, but all im saying is JDS is easily on par with Cain, Brock and Overeem. I cant stand bums thinking JDS's skillset is poor compared to the rest.

Okay I think Cain wasn't 100% for that fight at all, you could tell. He wasn't as explosive as he should be. I knew JDS would win, but Cain wasn't the same.
Also JDS was brought in the UFC for a fight against Werdum that was supposed to be his warmup fight for the belt and this happened:
War JDS, I think he would kill Overeem. He is a K1 champion but he is still super overrated imo. Also he can't take roids in the UFC

 

Cain wasnt 100%, niether was JDS. JDS couldnt walk 11 days prior to the fight. If it werent for UFC on Fox, JDs would've pulled out. So it was fair game in between those two that night. If JDS had pulled out, i dont think DW or the UFC are too willing to give JDS the next shot so he had no choice. its the biggest event in UFC history and JDS knew it and stayed on, now thats what i call a warrior.

And wasnt Werdum like top 5 HW at that time?(hes top 5 right now on a losing streak lol) I was suprised JDS KTFO Werdum and still needed another fucking 6 fights before getting the title shot.

Overeem likes to plod forward, and Overeem training with extreme couture for brock makes sense, but training with Ext couture for JDS is crazy. JDS is faster than Overeem and really honestly, should be the favorite.

And k-1 proved it has very little to do with MMA. The stances are different, the threat of takedowns, 4 oz gloves. Its a huge change. I do recall bob Sapp destroying their best k-1 champ twice lol.

If Brock wins, i will stand by my prediction JDS will stop every single TD. Once he does that, he'll prove to be near unstoppable.

 

Jds is the heavyweight chuck liddel.. great tdd and solid hands, hes going to be champ for awhile.

 

Well do you mean as on stand up, ground game submissions etc? I'm mainly stand up, Tbh, unlike most people who think their "solid", I know I'm crap at some stuff such as submissions, I'm stupid because I hardly practise submissions even though I need to..

 

Yes I understand that, I was just saying he didn't look good at all.
He was top 5 at that time, and he just lost one fight not a 2 fight losing streak I believe.
Also lets not start with the over/les vs JDS yet, because he is out for like 6 months with an injury + they haven't fought yet.

By the way, Daniel Cormier went in MMALive for a chat about what happened with Cain and JDS. He said Cain looked just as good as he did in all his other fights during training. The layoff had little effect, that Cain was trying to feel out JDS to test the distance and how fast JDS was. The only reason that Cain got KO'd was because JDS aimed a punch, landed a good shot and took Cain out. DC said there is no way of telling that Cain even went off gameplan at all and you dont shoot in from a mile away.

DC is a extremely close sparring partner and friend. The fact that he gave Cain ZERO excuses shows how much class he has. Now if i hear any more layoff excuses im going to kill someone.

Nice picks, I don't think Hendo will KO shogun in the first, he has a great chin.
It wouldn't surprise me if he did though. I think Shogun would have a better chance to KO Hendo tbh, Hendo has been hurt in all his fights recently besides Babalu.

1. Hendo will lose because everyone who beats Fedor loses their next time.

2. Wanderlei Silva will retire after Cung Le TKO's him.

3. Overeem will beat Brock, then JDS, finally unifying the lineal championship and UFC Heavyweight championship.

Great fight last night... i thought shogun fought for atleast a draw in the last round but none of the judges gave him a 10-8 in the 5th

I would have chosen Torres if i knew Pace went in 6 pounds heavier, darn me for being home too late lol. Dude was closer to a FW than a fucking bantamweight. And as for Bowles and Faber, i chose Bowles cause i liked him, but i had a huge urge to pick Faber since fabers just faber.
