How has runescape damaged your life?

I spent a lot of money on gold, members ships and bots, now that I think about it. And now I have none of that shit.

 

Well, I was addicted, got trouble with school etc. The normal stuff but luckily I stopped for a time and can control it now.

 

Runescape pretty much ruined my 6th and 7th grades tbh; I'd be embarrassed to play it and I really didn't leave the house much on weekends. I took a break for a couple of years and my social life has increased significantly. I know hundreds more new people (I'm now in 9th grade), and I'm out doing stuff pretty much all weekend.

However, with my exams all finished for the year I'm filling in time playing a bit (mostly AFKing at bandits while facebooking/sything). I hope I don't get re-addicted haha, it's a nasty cycle.

 

Runescape has done alot to my life tbh. It's taught me alot about handling money and due to my 'rwting' I've learned plenty about coding sites, ect. Irl it has affected my social life. I'm quite shy and don't talk much but when I'm with good friends im alright.

I love how the question is how not has. For me it has just been a waste of time and life if i have nothing better to do, although i do wish i could take back most of the time i spent on it.

 

Damaged mine same way as yours and I still can't get enough. Everytime I try to quit it's like I get withdrawal.

Made a good amount of money but wasted tons of time and became known for playing this game around where I live but I've stopped playing for a while.

 

Sleep deprivation, out of shape, lower grades. Got better but still addicted.

 

That's the problem with games like Runescape... the urge to play until you max out.

Runescape made me a little anti-social, but otherwise it really hasn't affected me at all.

 

Honestly if anything RS has made my life better. It has let me learn about the world ahead because of my friends on it, it has made me better socially IRL so I have much more friends than before I played it, it has also reduced my aggressiveness towards friends and honestly it makes my family better because I leave my brother alone when we're forced at home together as before I would always shit on him. My mother doesn't mind that I play it, I could care less about my father because he's the one that divorced her when I was 3, and it is also the reason why I have NO stress because it unwinds me. And now that I'm 14 and I don't play it as much as I used to as I don't have as much time on my hands it has made my character much better around people.

If anything the only thing it has damaged is my skin color as I'm not as tan as most of the other kids at school. But I'm not bullied because of it or anything as pretty much no one hates me at my school as I'm not a faggot to anyone (because of Runescape) and because I'm friends with most of the kids above me on the "social ladder." So all in all, I thank Runescape :s

 

It hasnt really damaged my life, I just sometimes wish I could be doing more constructive things than sitting on a video game, but It's alright

 

My friends know I play runescape they don't give half a fk. It taught me how to merch/Make money and I've gotten over 500+ bucks irl which I there bought an xbox360 annd some trident headsets.

 

I would spend time playing Runescape instead of hanging out with friends when I was younger. I lost a lot because of it.

I play when stressed with irl. its like my escape. I dont play too much of it and I have learned self control because of it. I am thankful that i have started to play.

 

I died pking and lost my full addy armour 4 years ago, there was then a hole in the computer screen and then there was a hole in my window after it was thrown though it.

 

Wasted countless hours on this game. Was it worth it? Maybe. Would I have changed things? Not much.

 

There are negative and positives for me. But I think the positives of finding great friends far outweighs the negatives of spending some time playing legit then switching to botting + hundreds spent on RS. The way I see it I spent a couple hundred bucks but met real friends that I talk to on a daily basis.

In the end if it wasn't for runescape I am not sure how my life would have turned out but it would've been much worse because I would not have met the great people that I did.

 

Money and Time.

Lower grades, because all I thought about was runescape all day.
