Well not impossible.. The ISP obviously has that information. (I know the OP stated how he did it in the next post)... But he could've also gone through a site (like this) where someone had real world information on the user (the user found using the ip.. etc)

I actually got my first PP at 16. Yes, there are multiple names like his that is why you MUST locate his region.. Far out. Read + understand

 

I don't understand why people have such a hard time believing this story. It is not like you are making any ridiculous and outrageous claim that you whooped the guys ass or anything.

I am normally pretty skeptical about far-fetched sounding stories, but in your case this sounds very believable to me. You used his IP address to establish that he lived in your general area, got his exact address by getting his name or whatever info you needed from PayPal, then you looked him up in the phone book/local directory, and were able to pinpoint his exact address. And since it was within driving distance, you travelled the short distance and retrieved your account by surprising the kid.

If you made a big story about how you beat the living shit out of him, I probably would not have believed you. But since you only had a chat with him and let him know that you know exactly where he lives and all that stuff, he gave the account back to you and you went home happy. I thought it was a pretty damn cool story actually, and I totally would have done the same thing If I were you

 

Nice to know you'd be the bigger man, I would've broken his kneecaps or be really creepy about knowing where he lives. God, if someone did that to me, I'd be scared shitless.

Anways, congratz. I'd probably do the same thing if it was over $100, But meh.. I don't think I'd be so chill about it, I don't like when people steal from me.
