They are just trying to get attention. They got my attention, and I guess it worked. A machete should be on the list too, they really should have put a list of legal weapons on their website. Haha.

You're not seeing the big picture. This is a joke, but an educational one. They're trying to reach the people who wouldn't read the article if it was titled "Prepare yourself for hurricanes". By titling it something funny and ridiculous, but keeping the safety steps the same as for most natural disasters, they get to educate people who normally wouldn't be interested.

 

You've missed the point mate :/ The reason they put the zombie apocalypse link into the article is so people that wouldn't read something about hurricane preparation are still drawn in.
