Xbox live + Microsoft points

Hi

I'm looking to buy xbox live gold membership + microsoft points pretty soon. Considering this is a black market I can probably get it cheaper than buying it in the local stores.

However, considering I'm living in The Netherlands: Can I use xbox live gold membership codes from across the world or will this be a problem? And the same questions for microsoft points, can I use these codes from across the world or will this be a problem?

Xbox live codes aren't region specific and you can use one purchased from anywhere. Microsoft points are region specific (so if you have an account from the Netherlands, you would need a microsoft points card from the Netherlands)

Partially right, there are 4 main region specific codes, EU, AUS, CN & US. Therefore you could use any MSP purchased from any country within Europe. However there are 3 forms of MSP that work worldwide and are not region locked, these are; 100 / 200 / 400 MSP codes which are usuallly acquired through promotions however some stores do now sell 400 MSP codes in Europe.

Quatakai however was correct in saying XBL codes are NOT region locked.

No, if you had read the OP properly you would see he is asking a query about MSP so he did not buy a code he couldn't use.

 

Oh thanks for the new responses. I actually misread the answer of Quatekai and I was under the impression that I could use MSP across the world and Live only region specific.. But it's the other way around >.< Thanks all.
