Would a defense pure get owned in staking? Really want to make a pure for staking very very badly to make bank but i just dont know what to make

 

Staking was all about High Defence and Attack. My stats were 80-60-80 and I owned whoever had 60-80-60(stats may vary)

 

u'll fight other tanks and if you want to win you need the best armour

 

dosent like everybody turn the armor option off though

I had a VERY succesful tank account back in the days of Duel Arena.
5 Attack, 10 Strength, 60 Defence.

I lost TWICE, both times to ANOTHER defence pure.

Easily won as much as you wanted.

I went up from 800K to 40Mish before I quitted on it due to Duelling removal.

 

It all depends on rules. One thing for sure though, SW products get fucked up staking, you need hp. I trained my pure legit, it's level 65 with 78 hp.

Still deciding on what to make, leaning towards def pure atm.

 

Should make a tank mate, I love having them because they can't hit you. My friend's got 99 magic, range, defence & he owns

 

I've been playing since like 2004. I know a decent amount about staking. Defence pures do own, i owned a range tank that i used to stake with (80 def, 96 range). I owned a 1 def pure (60 att, 85 str, 1 prayer), it went okay. A berserker pure (80 att, 96 str, 45 def, 52 prayer), it didn't do too good.

The problem with defence pures though, is because they are so good, no one wants to fight them. The trick is to stay off the radar. You can have like 60 att, 60 str, 60 def, 1 prayer, and none of your stats will show up in highscores. So use those sort of things to your advantage.

I'm contemplating making another defence pure, don't know if i can be bothered though.

 

Also, you should definitely stake higher levels. Like if your level 40, stake 50-60s, so they'll let you have armour on.

You asked what kind of account you should make. Defence pure can be done with very little effort, and be effective. Alternatives could be

a) Range tank (70 Defence, 70 Ranged)
b) Low level mager (82 mage, ancients, stake level 90s' mains with magic on)
c) Obby tanker (70 Defence, 60-? Strength)
d) DDSer (70 Attack[For Whip], 80-? Strength, 1 Defence, 1 Prayer, HIGH HP)

 

One thing you may want to consider(if you are doing high value stakes) is blood burst along with everything else. Free HP is important.

 

Go for this:
70-40-70

Full verac's + d boots.

Start out wearing something like...bronze platebody, white beret, no boots, a mithril scimitar, lederhosen pants (from random events), and no kiteshield.

Say "Staking up to (x)M, NO RULES!"

Then, switch into your verac's/etc in the duel.

You'll only be like level 60 with all that. :]

You might want to use Rune Scimitar, since mithril scimitar is too obvious scam.

 

Yeah, true. And I just rethought that at level 60, most people can wear adamant, at least.

So maybe go with that, but mix in some mithril

 

So which would be more effective, a pure with only Def , or a pure thats like, 80 range 80 def, 70 40 70 etc..

 

70-40-70 was always the best for me. Also, stay 1 prayer.

Low combat + staking level 70s in rune = you win.

 

Most effective IMO is pure with low account & strength ( like 10 attack, 10 strength ) and high defence.

Use Darklight to lower your enemys' defence, then use Black Dagger p++ to poison your enemy, then black scimitar 'till the end.

 

I honestly am doing staking for the big bank heh, and ive seen people make MILLIONS in no time with properly set up pures in staking
