Anyone can have a discussion, anyway

 

On the same front are you worried about the spam forum discussions corrupting views on site matters?

 

Putting them into the process makes it more than a discussion and into like an advice time.

Them to not do something stupid.

 

I am still a bit concerned with the sway current OMMs would have with the moderators who vote new OMMs in.

Particularly if the globals/admins don't really know much about the applicant. A community forum would probably offset that - so if that's the intention, I can't complain.

Otherwise I think a rework should be in order.

I agree. I brought this up a while back but didn't care enough to further continue a debate. It certainly seams as if you see that a moderator has replied to a thread, you can bet on knowing it's locked.

Usually threads are only locked when there is a definitive answer, and in which case only one reply with the answer is needed i.e. sythe support, or the issue has been dealt with and there is no need for further discussion

 

Usually. Not always. And I can still find several threads where a definitive answer needs clarification or a new definitive answer...
