    Why Tinnitus?

I think i may have Tinnitus i have been listening to music on my headphones pretty loud at the gym for around 5 days i can't sleep that's why i'm awake this late. Every time i put my fingers to close my ear i hear a loud. I'm worried and don't know what to do I'm nervous there's so many things going in my head. Can this Noise be in my head forever?.... I really hope not.

Well, first things first- You need to get your ears checked out to see if you actually have Tinnitus. Try to get an appointment fast as you can. Tinnitus is usually caused now-a-days by loud noise exposure, which many people just completely ignore.

After you get your ears checked the doctor can give tell you what's the problem and be sure to tell him you listen to music loud. Obviously, his advice will be to don't listen to the music loud and don't play it directly into your ear for a few days to anywhere to the week range.

You most likely have it somewhere in your outer ear, middle ear, or inner ear. The doctor will hopefully put you on some sort of medication to prevent the symptoms if you do have Tinnitus.

If you need anything else dude, just hit me a PM.

My advice to you, stop listening to the music so loud don't play it directly into your ear for a while. I wish you the best, bro!

EDIT: Also, to answer your question if you repetitively listen to your music on 'blast' it CAN stay in your head/ear and will cause hearing impairment as well. If you really absolutely have to listen to music put it on low as can be and once again, don't play it directly into your ear.

Give it a few days and see if the noise fades. If not, you've probably developed tinnitus. Welcome to my world of constant buzzing!

Like Verts said, give it a few days. Chances are, it'll probably fade. If not, it's a more serious problem and you should get it checked out right quick. I hope for your sake you didn't develop it. As far as I know there's nothing you can really do about it as far as treatment and soothing it.

I've got Tinnitus, and honestly the best thing you can do is try and block it out by a radio, AC, tv etc. I hope you don't have it because it takes a LOT of getting used to.

I first got it in my left ear 2 years ago when I was 17. I used to abuse my ears with loud music now I am paying the price for it....

If you are really concerned go and visit the urgent care and get your ears checked out. They'll be able to tell you whether you have it or not.
