Why does Existence exist?

We all know that the purpose of life is to reproduce, to ensure the survival of each species. We also know the reason why we study and work, to contribute to society and ultimate to human civilization as a whole.

But everyone also knows that one day the Universe will end and everything will be gone. The technology of every species, all of their accomplishments, everything that makes up the history of the Universe will end and we'll all cease to exist.

So the question is, what is the purpose of Existence, if everything within Existence (and Existence itself) will end one day? Why does Existence even exist in the first place, only to come to an inevitable end?

It's like spending your entire life working and enjoying yourself but knowing that after you die you won't even know you had lived or existed before, because all your memories will be lost when your brain (which forms the basis of your mind) decomposes.

If you honestly thought for a moment that the meaning of life could be answered on a gaming forum- you are gravely mistaken.

Philosophers and great thinkers have dedicated their lives searching for an answer to the meaning of life.. Perhaps the answer is not universal, perhaps each individual has their own meaning to existence. Nobody will ever know for sure, and thats the beauty of it.

 

Yes indeed. Perhaps existence has no meaning at all. I'm not just talking about "life" but existence itself. I still would like to read people opinions.

I think, by existence, you are referring to the universe itself, no? Why does something exist, rather than nothing?

To that, I do not know the answer; I can only speculate. At this point, I rather think that existence is something not terribly remarkable, but simply "is".

 

Human Curiosity, It's what has driven us forward for the past thousands of years. Simply, im stating that some times we just can't know. It's the fabric of life if we knew why we were here, we'd simply know just about anything and we'd be able to live forever, and just as Wendy stated your not going to get the correct answer to this on a gaming forum -.-. Many people waste their entire lives on subjects and topics like these, so please don't try to get caught up in it.

 

Were here by chance.. may aswell make the most of it, why ponder why your here and instead do stuff that makes you happy, gives you a sence of achievement

I wasn't suggesting that he should give up his quest. By all means, continue to search for the meaning of life and existence, God speed.

 

I find no point in questioning this because many have tried and all of them have failed, just like I said before you will NEVER find the answer to this question until you have died, very simple.

 

If a person actually looks into that, you'd see why this slightly affects why I believe in Christianity.

 

Each individual person must find that out for his or herself.

 

How can you say the universe will end when it is an infinite area as far as we know, This planet will die that is guaranteed but I don't think the universe as a whole will ever lose its existance.

A simple answer is that humans exist to reproduce but that just prolongs the existance of humans it isnt actually a reason to exist as such. We all have our own reasons to live but I doubt there is 1 single given reason for everything to exist because if there was noone could ever figure that reason we just guess our own reasons and move on from there.

What I think is irrelevant. Especially if it's the thoughts of a nonexistent being.
That's be outside the realm of a dream. A dream would put to question the existence of others, and wouldn't include yourself.
I just don't see how thinking constitutes existence.

 

I don't know that you can say existence will end. Who can say life on this planet will still reside in this galaxy or universe for that matter in "x" amount of time. But back to the point, our existence is just that...ours and ours alone. Its purpose is what you as an individual make of it.

 

Existence does not exist, plain and simple.
