What happened?

I just checked out the game for the first time in a few months. (I check it every few months) and all the RS3 world's are empty! Even the most popular f2p word (3 I think) had like 900 people.

What happened?

I mean I know there is now old school rs but...

People's interest change and although RS3 has been released, I feel it was far too soon since the recent release of 07 scape. It's most often better to do things in waves, but releasing and re-releasing an upgrade of a similar game in the same calendar year is a bit much.

Also, don't forget that school will be starting up for many people soon, which may impact the hourly numbers substantially as well.

RS3 was crap no one liked it, it was becoming like WoW and 07 came out before people just play that and bot on EoC I guess .

 

Not many bots now either.

 

it's because there are no bots. it's almost impossible to bot and they were ~ half of the population online at times.

It's a shame it really is. I didn't plan on playing again I just wanted to see how it was.

I think we can officially say it's over.

For the old timers like you perhaps but jagex has recorded record profits this year and the influx of new players is huge so perhaps it's more of a rebuild

 

There probably updating something to the servers or something.

 

The generation that played RS is growing up...
