Hi I recently tried to by 450m via w/u from HJQ

I sent £102+fees to his details in china

The man at the w/u desk told me the offices in china were closed and he would be able to receive in 12 hours.

I told hjq this and we both tracked the payment and it said awaiting authorization.

I think this means then Chinese w/u has to authorize this or something

anyway has this happened to any 1 because hjq is kind of refusing to give gold and saying just go get ur money back

Edit: I was sending from united kingdom

If it's "awaiting authorization" you cannot expect hjq to provide you the gold. The payment hasn't cleared. Traditionally, nine times out of ten, this message comes up because of the sender. I'm guessing you sent the money online? Try calling up Western Union. They think you're being scammed and therefore are holding the money. To simply things with their half brained customer support, tell them you know hjq in person/real life and they'll clear the payment for pickup.

Hm I see. WUs are relatively rare in China much like they are in the United Kingdom. Whenever I did business with the Chinese I'd expect it to take some time to physically send/pickup. However, if you go and cancel the payment, you'll lose the fees.

I have encountered the "awaiting authorization" when a receiver has been getting too much money. You might want to ask hjq if he's been able to receive any other transfers.

I had the same issue yesterday with someone sending me money from the UK. Even though they send it through a store, there bank doesn't release the money for some hours (possibly due to a large number or WU scams over there)? Anyway, the buyer called his bank, and they released the funds within the hour. I imagine if you attempted the same kind of thing you would get the same result. Like Nick said, "awaiting authorisation" is mainly from the senders end, and it is unfai to expect h1 to release the gold yet.

Try tracking the Western Union payment on the mobile WU app for IOS or android, whenever I check it on the website it says pending but on the phone it says available and I pick up without problems.
